Sounds a bit like me. Some days I'd have only one meal, then the next, I'd spend all day gorging on anything that was edible, lol.
Since starting a diet, I've set up an eating rountine for myself. I have to have 3 meals a day, and these three meals (and the occasional snack) have to add up to what's suggested to me on the BMI calculator.
Having a slight eating routine will ultimately help you. At times it won't be perfect, but that's okay. Do you have any lunch breaks? Like you, I don't like eating when I'm at work (well, college), but I've had to force myself outside of my comfort zone.
Also, your meals don't necesserily have to fit into the conventional 'breakfast before 10am, lunch at 12-1pm, and dinner in the evening' prototype. You can aim for that, but it's not the only way it can be done.
For an example, I wake up at around 11am, so that means I usually have my breakfast at around 12pm, then lunch at 3-4pm, and dinner at 6-7:30pm. It's not ideal, and I'm working on it, but it's what's best for my schedule (and sleeping habits, haha) at the moment.
Not consuming enough calories, like eating once a day, will possibly hinder weight loss.
If your work is already physically demanding, then I don't think you have to worry about exercise too much yet. I'd personally work on the diet first, then start organising exercise that'll best fit your schedule.
The 12 week plan is also helpful. I like it most for tracking my weight, calorie consumption, and exercise. It also has some neat information that you can follow (that I fail to follow... ). You can download it onto your computer, I think, but I personally have it on my mobile phone.
Hi didizia thankyou for your reply I think that is my first hurdle like you say to eat 3 meals a day and drink water. I do get lunch breaks but my lunch break is at 10.45 due to working in the catering industry we have early lunch breaks so generally I just have a coffee. I find eating breakfast a struggle as can't stomach food first thing and generally at work by 7am something I need to work on as keep reading it's the key to kick start ur metabolism x
That's exactly my problem! When I do wake up early, I still avoid an early breakfast, because it feels heavy in my stomach. Very uncomfortable. It's not so bad now, but when I was younger, it was worse. Then the habit of skipping breakfast kind of persisted.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll find a way around it.

Whenever I always dieted before I never seemed to lose weight and when I joined I was advised to eat enough calories as advised by the bmi calculator to lose weight, your body think you are starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat instead and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so you sometimes put weight on or just never lose it because you do get more fatty. Once I upped my calories I started getting firmer and losing weight and have now lost 2st. Please don't make this same mistake. Good luck with your journey.
