Hi,

Hi Makeupartist and welcome to the forum. In a nutshell, I would say no. It took me three months to lose 3 1/2 stone and that was eating 1,800 calories a day and I was exclusively breastfeeding. Even if you drastically cut your calorie intake, which in itself is unhealthy, it is not sustainable. It is much better to take it slowly and I would say you could definitely lose a stone by 27 May and be almost halfway there. You need to check out your correct daily calorie allowance using the NHS BMI calculator. Be patient, because slow and steady wins the race

Download the 12 week plan, if that's something that appeals to you and don't forget to take initial measurements and photos, as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating fully
We offer a Newbie badge for those starting out on their weight loss journeys with us, if you would like one? These can be exchanged for weight loss badges as time progresses.
Wishing you all the very best with your weight loss journey
Hi makeupartist, Welcome to the forum where I'm sure you'll get lots of help and support in your weight loss journey here.
I'm no expert on dieting, but I do know that it should be tackled in a healthy and sustainable way, and by losing a couple of pounds or so each week to begin with, or slightly more depending on start weight.
To lose three stones in six weeks would mean having to lose a massive seven pounds every week and I'm pretty sure that is not a possibility nor healthy.
Take a look at the NHS weight loss plan. There are many people here who are successfully and healthily losing weight with that programme, so I'm sure you could lose quite a lot of weight in six weeks in a structured and healthy way.
Good luck.
Sorry but I think it isn't achievable. They say you have to have a calorie deficit of 3500 to lose a lb. To lose that much in so soon couldn't be done as if you are nothing you still wouldn't burn 3500 calories as you wouldn't have energy to move. Without moving my Fitbit tells me I only burn 1900 calories a day (5ft 8, 17 stone 10) I believe you could lose a stone or maybe a stone and a half if you are quite heavy now and eating a poor diet. I certainly lost 21lb in my first 6 weeks but I was 23 stone. Don't set too high a goal or you will end up disappointed.
Maybe not three stone but enough to make a big difference to how you look and feel 😊
I dropped 12 lbs and a dress size in my first 9 weeks of healthy eating prior to my sons wedding and I felt fabulous 😊 I had also been exercising so I had more energy and danced all night 😊
Best wishes Makeupartist 😊
Hi and welcome, I was wandering if there is a reason why you feel you need to lose so much so quickly
It seems an awful lot in such a short time xx
Through a measured reduction in daily consumption, dietary intake that’s low in sugar/refined carbohydrate and the increased uptake of exercise, over the next six weeks, you’ll undoubtedly enjoy some success but it’s highly unlikely that you’ll shift 3st.
Moreover, as already rightly pointed out, even if you did achieve such a feat, the methods by which the loss was achieved are unlikely to benefit the body in the longer term, particularly if eating habits returned to normal after you’d lost it.
Consider what may have happened to those you know who’ve embarked upon diets such as Cambridge and Lighter Life. Despite seemingly enjoying overnight success while following the plan, have they been able to maintain their loss after coming off plan, or have they gained it all back and more?
That said, I agree with isou and Ella that a loss of a stone, or even up to 18lbs, certainly is achievable, while echoing the thoughts of Chuckyegg in that the management of weight should be tackled in a healthy and sustainable manner.
To begin making progress, consulting the NHS BMI calculator is highly recommend. Doing so will allow you to appreciate how much energy your body requires on daily basis, based upon age, weight, height and level of activity. Upon ascertaining your numbers, begin to maintain a daily calorie deficit from the highest number, ensuring that any deficit introduced doesn’t exceed the difference between the two figures.
Equally, consulting the 12 Week Plan is also recommended, since it’ll provide an idea of the kind of food that ought to be consumed and that which should be avoided. Additionally, consulting the Glycemic Index scale of foods is recommended, seeking to ensure that food with a GI of 60 or less features in your diet more frequently than those with a GI of 60 or higher.
Regular exercise and its intensity remains crucially important, too.
In addition to improving fitness and increasing overall daily calorie expenditure, its regular inclusion helps to deplete glycogen (stored carbohydrate) from within the muscles, while also working to improve insulin sensitivity.
The more frequently and intensely you begin to exercise, the greater chance you stand of achieving regular depletion of glycogen and a resulting improvement in insulin sensitivity.
If you don’t currently hold a gym membership, consider purchasing one. Alternatively, if gym exercise doesn’t appeal, consider home workout DVDs, such as Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred, or even begin to follow the array of 15 minute HIIT workouts available on YouTube, for example.
When she cannot be bothered with a gym workout, my wife follows the YouTube workouts of a lady called Chloe Ting:
Frankly, No
Good luck. I also need to lose a significant amount before 27th may. 3 stone would be amazing but I will settle for anything over 1 stone and continue the battle through June. Best of luck.
Operation mouse is because, we are going to Disney and I want to look pretty in a swimsuit not a bleach whale, I weighted 8 stone a year ago, but my diet has changed as has my day job.. hence why I've put on weight... I'm aiming for 9 stone by 27 May... 7 stone by July... it's achieveable.. I'm refusing to buy any new clothes... I need to get back into my current clothes...
