Hi Hidden

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Rose

Sounds really positive sarah304 so unless you're having problems then maybe the answer is to carry on as you are.

As for exercising you could try the couch 2 5k

healthunlocked.com/couchto5k

If you're adverse to any exercise, how about gardening if you have one, dancing to your favourite music, walking instead of using the car...

An admin will reply to your post and provide you with lots of useful information, such as the NHS 12 week plan. Its probably worth reading just to see how it matches in with what you're doing and see if you can pick up any tips.

Good luck!

This is my 15th week (I think) and I still make sure that if I'm going to put anything in my mouth to eat, that first I work out how many calories it has and that I've written it down in my spreadsheet. I then know how many calories it will leave me for the rest of the day. I find it helps me decide if its worth it or not and have taken stuff off my plate on several occasions.

Try ensuring that 'bad' snacky things aren't around. Conversely, try ensuring that you have healthy snacky things around.

When I'm eating anything but especially if I'm snacking, I slow myself right down e.g. if I have a 30g bowl of sultanas then I'll only eat a couple of them then do something else (chat to partner, post on here) before having a couple more.

To avoid snacking try filling up with water.

You were doing fine and you can get there again.

Hi Hidden welcome to us. I don't exercise either and I still eat a mixture of things. It is very important that you go to a site such as my fitness pal which is free and easy to use, don't take any notice of the fact that it will probably tell you to have 1200 calories as this does confuse most people as it says this for everyone but this is all to do with our height, age and weight so this is important it is worked on on the bmi calculator. This will give you a large amount you can work between as I can work between around 1304 and 1700ish. I eat closer between the middle and higher amount so that I have a big difference to drop to if it is needed as you can struggle further in on the weight loss otherwise. If I get stressed I post on here telling about my problem I am having and get support from people here which assists me or call friends etc. If I feel I need to eat I do check my calorie intake of the day and see if I will have enough calories for what I want. If not I change the idea and find something else. If not I will have a cup of tea and look around on here which helps calm me because it puts me in a good mood again. I never used to loose weight because I didn't eat enough. I used to think that I always needed to eat less to loose weight. Trouble is my body already thought I wasn't eating enough so eating even less didn't help. Already what I ate it turned it into body fat and this weighed more than calories did so it meant I always put on weight. Now I am eating more so it is between my calorie intake like I should and losing weight. I now see this as a life change and not a diet.
