Hi, I've just joined after continuously yo-yoing with my weight over the last 3 years due to bad diet and poor lifestyle. I am overweight (BMI 26) and looking to lose 21 pounds within 12 weeks - just in time for my holiday. I'm struggling with hunger (huge appetite!) so if anyone has any tips to feel full on a low calorie diet, please send them my way!

Hello jennykw and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺
I also have a large appetite so I have to choose my foods carefully for maximum satiety: low gi such as wholemeal starches, vegetables and fruit; enough protein and fats; very little calorie dense foods like sugar and processed foods.
Here are a few more suggestions to help you benefit from the forum 😊
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺
Best wishes
Anna
Thank you Anna! Yes, please can I have a newbie badge?
I downloaded the 12 week plan and have been logging my calories using My Fitness Pal app. I think I need to make sure I have a bigger breakfast and as you say, choose wholemeal / filling varieties.
I'm dreading the weekends as I am relatively controlled during the working week but like to enjoy myself and relax over the weekend. I will have to plan lots of active things to keep me distracted!
Jenny
Distraction is a good tactic 😊 I also by far prefer a decent breakfast/lunch and lighter evening meal 😊
MFP can be a bit mean with the calories, use the NHS bmi checker 😊 Either way 21lbs is quite a lot in 12 weeks, but with a sensible eating plan and regular exercise you can improve your overal shape and fitness in 12 weeks 😊

Protein is your friend and boredom is your enemy
Boiled eggs are a great snack and loaded with good protein, as a is a simple steamed chicken breast. When you are hungry eating something like that will help fill you up fast.
Make a list of things you have been meaning to do and not gotten around to. When you feel distracted or bored/hungry (bungry?) before you reach for the chocolate get up and go and do it. The distraction helps you forget about being bungry.
You can do this. I know it
