Hi Mariru
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.
Have a good first week.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your journey. Do not be afraid to ask any questions on here, everybody is very friendly and there is always someone who tends to have an answer for any question you end up asking. They made me feel comfortable on here very quickly too. All the best!
Hi Mariru,
It comes as a shock when you don't realise there's anything wrong with your blood pressure. Good luck with the weight loss and giving up smoking 😃
As you know arthritis is an inflammatory disease and smoking and unhealthy eating are two of the worst things you can do as far as your body becoming inflamed.
I was developing some arthritis in my elbow and knee and after 4 weeks of healthy eating with lots of salads and little sugar in my diet it seems to have helped quite a bit.
I was a 40 a day smoker and gave up smoking almost 2 years ago - if I can do it anyone can! The best support I had was on a quit smoking forum quitsmokingmessageboard.com/
It's EXCELLENT and I would strongly suggest joining . The people here are supportive and caring and a lot(including myself) of the people there are ex smokers who enjoy helping others quit.
I am "daveinermo" on the site with the same pavatar so seek me out if you join.
Good luck and you can do this. I know it.
Welcome Mariru You have come to the right place joined on Sunday past and already I am feeling so much better. Healthy eating is helping but the feeling of me being in control is giving me empowerment. I took quite awhile thinking about getting started but once I did I got my head into gear which was half my battle. Will look forward to reading your progress
