Hello everyone! i am a Newbie - day 2 - Weight Loss Support
Hello everyone! i am a Newbie - day 2
Hi and welcome, pilatesrocks
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Hi. Like you I have just joined the forum. I was listening to a podacast about calorie counting and realised I do a lot of eyeballing. Which in reality means guessing the weight of stuff cos I am too lazy to weigh everything. So although I was tracking food in mfp. I was 'way' out. I must have been consuming far more calories than I ever thought. Which means my portion sizes were bigger than they should be. I have from yesterday started to really count calories. I am sure I won't keep it up but it's been an eye opener for me. Hopefully I will lose more weight.
Good luck on your journey x
Hi, the podcast sounds interesting! - can multi-task while listening! where would i find that? Yes - weight easily gets out of hand, if you don't watch it. I generally claw it back around 10 pounds, but this time its gone a bit further. just a couple of pounds would take me back to healthy bmi, but i don't want to sit at the top anymore; i want to me mid-range (22 bmi). I have been weighing food because i somehow seem to have no concept of food portions anymore!!! so here goes to day 3!
Hello and welcome pilatesrocks
I know what you mean about becoming more calorie aware! It's quite scary how many calories are in things, especially 'healthy' things like flapjack or a few nuts 😜
I hope you enjoy the forum. Have you checked your bmi and found the correct target calorie range? This was quite a nice surprise to me and has made a big difference, losing weight whilst eating a little more 😊
Best wishes
Anna
Hi, It's my Day 2 too.
I enjoyed my meals yesterday and realised my portions are huge, so I will definitely cut down on the amount of food on my plate.
There are a lot of nice recipes so plenty to choose from.
Good Luck, Kittykara x
