Today I ache, lol. Not planning on doing anything overactive today but will try and keep my steps up. Clocked over 13,000 yesterday but don't think I'll achieve that today. Catching up on paperwork, recording recipes that are written on scraps of paper about the house and carry on with my coursework.
Hope you all have a good day x

It's because your body is not use to it...I was the same; so stiff and achy but now I can do over 30 sit ups and other exercises in the same hour and the next day I don't feel a thing. You're being sensible giving your body time to repair, that's very important. But don't worry too much, as your fitness increases the aches should lessen.
Swimming is good if you are stiff and achy. It's a good way to loosen things up but again, it is important to rest; the reason we get stiff and achy after exercise is because our muscles have been torn and damaged....that's why it's important to feed your body right and to get a good night's sleep. The trick is too move enough but still keep things gentle. Otherwise you are going to cause yourself an injury and that will put you back a distance with regard to your fitness and possibly your weight loss and mentality.
You're definitely right there! It's just I tend to go to the opposite extreme and don't move at all! Which makes the stiffness worse for me. I find if I just move normally, i.e. not working out but just everyday moving, I don't stiffen up as much.
Another option is icing, just so long as you don't put the ice directly on your skin!
