Hi Gummybear, welcome and thanks for posting.
Of course you can be helped although most of it will be you helping yourself. At the same time, there is lots of information and very helpful and friendly people that will answer your questions and hold your hand when you need it.
Later, one of the admins will post a reply to you, supplying you with lots of useful information. It would certainly help your coming journey to read through it all plus any links to other areas that they suggest. The more you understand then the better decisions you can make.
Good luck and feel free to post any questions, thoughts, concerns etc. at any time as there is always a friendly ear nearby.
Of course you can lose weight! I weighed 23 stone in September, now I am just under 18. If I can do it so can you. It isn't easy and for me required a lifestyle change so that I cook all my meals and have cut out high carbs food like bread, pasta. I am strict with myself and only eat junk on very special occasions. Personally I don't count calories I just eat less than I used to and move about more. It isn't easy but I have found by cutting out sugar and most processed food (apart from milk and yogurt and stock cubes) I have found a sustainable way of eating that suits me. My husband joins in for evening meals but he does eat sandwiches, cereal etc and chips when we go out. Good luck, you can do it!! Start today and by May you will be buying new clothes. I have had to replace virtually everything now and I survive on a small wardrobe until I can get down some more. 🤞🤞

Hi and welcome, Gummybear
You certainly can be helped and we're just the people to offer that assistance
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
