I am new here. i have been trying to lose weight most of my life. i succeed then it all piles back on with some extra.
i have always been a silent dieter. but now i am just tipping over the 20st mark and recently been diagnosed with diabetes and border line blood pressure.
Due to back problems my mobility is very limited so cant even go for walks without having to sit down after 2 minutes. A combination of a desk job and limited mobility and under active thyroid has made me pile the weight over the years. Last year lost 2 stone and now put 1 stone back on.
so.........here goes. i have decided to join the group to help me lose the weight and keep me motivated.
Day 1 new start.........DETERMINED

I have been much the same! Lose some, pliers some on, lose some, pile some on! It's frustrating.
Sorry to hear about your health issues but these are things that can be addressed with some little changes in lifestyle! "Exercise" doesn't have to be going on a 5k run all the time..Start with something small like getting up from your desk and walking around the office for a couple of minutes a few times a day? This small amount will soon lead you to be able to walk further and build up that way
If you have a mobile maybe set a reminder every couple of hours to get up? Or on your computer perhaps?
We all have to stay strong...Some days are easier than others! Weight loss is a journey, not a quick process at all. If you continue to make small changes you will eventually see the benefits
The thing I liked about the 12 week plan were the weekly sheets to fill in activities and calories - helps you see where you can make more changes
May I also suggest if you have a smart phone, downloading My Fitness Pal. I personally have found it very useful, not necessarily even to calorie count but just shock at how many calories some things contain!
I have a lot to lose too so don't worry! Take small chunks that are achievable like plan to lose 5kg in the next 2 months.
Losing weight is easier when you set short term goals rather than focus on this dreadful long-term "oh my god I have to lose so much!". Instead lose a little and celebrate the small victories and sustain this over a long period
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
thank you so much moreless. i have downloaded the 12 week plan. my plan is to stay committed. i will look into the weigh ins as wel will look around the page this evening.
Hi Poppy2667, welcome to our friendly group of Wed Warriors .
You certainly have had a rough time of it, but here we all support each other in our weight loss journeys, and that certainly has helped me to stay more focused knowing i am not alone in this.
thank you Kyna. This is the reason i joined the group. i have always done it on my own before and never had support or encouragement. i never told anyone i was dieting. everyone's so wonderful here
Start with the positive you only put one of your two stones back on, so good start. Secondly as you lost weight last year you, like most of us here know what to do. We just need to keep up the good behaviour. They are lovely people on here. So best of luck and you will achieve your goals.
