Hi everyone just signed up. Currently morbidly obese, tried all diets under the sun, watch all weightloss programs on tv, lack will power ☹️

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you :)

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news :)

Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate :)

We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too :)

Welcome Lopedzie1. Lifestyle change rather than diet wins the day. Whatever you do has to be sustainable. Cook food from scratch and eat as little processed food as possible.

Everyone on here is so friendly and will share hints, tips and advice. Everyone does things slightly differently, but everyone will be very encouraging. There are some inspirational folk who have lost loads of weight and people like me who lose weight so slowly it is unbelievably frustrating. Develop a can-do mindset and celebrate (not with food) every good choice you make until you recognise that will power isn't all it is cracked on to be and "won't power" is much better for you. I won't eat anything that is not good for me. Food id the fuel for our bodies and I want the best fuel I can get. I have to believe I am worth it and no one can make the changes but me.

The main thing is, in my opinion, to enjoy your journey through weight loss, this is not a punishment it is a route to health and the best chance at a longer life. Take care.

Welcome Lopedzie, Just keep coming back here to the forum and read lots of posts, you will find it helps to motivate you and before you know it you will find a way that suits you. Just try making small changes to start with and however you decide to loose weight make sure, as Ceals said, that it is sustainable. Good luck.

Hi everyone. Thanks for such a warm welcome. Today I took photo, went to buy vegetables and fruits, weighed my self ( 19 stone 7 pounds - 124kg) . I broke down but I believe I will be fine with support from this group. I am joining gym with work colleagues ( hope to go at least 3 times a week). I have treadmill at home but go on there less than 3 times in two months. Wish me luck and good luck to everyone. I will let you know how I get on by Monday
