It's amazing what we do to put obstacles in our own way. Can you put them in the freezer? Anyone who wants one can then defrost them but they will be out of sight for you and hopefully you can stop thinking about them.

Try to remember what motivated you to start this in the first place - for me the thought of having another summer when I have to cover up in big clothes and be the only one sweating like a farm animal is helping me stay on track (mostly).

I'm sure you can do it - dig deep and read through the posts on this site to give you inspiration.

good luck! :)

I'm only on week 3 and have lost about 3lbs ish. I was hoping for more because the first few weeks people say you tend to lose a lot of water. But - the big revelation for me is the exercise and what that does to your body. Believe me I never ever in a million years thought I'd be going to the gym - but this is actually gettingto be my favourite bit. I still hate going - but when I come out I feel fantastic. And i've also lost at last an inch of my waist and 1 1/2 off my hips. I'm in my jeans now and the 'overhang' is nowhere near as bad and I've gone down two notches on my belt. my goals are to be fitter and slimmer, healthier and happier and I'd say I'm doing great on all of those - so far.

how about you? do you have specific goals in mind? and have you tried myfitnesspal yet to track your progress? People have recommended it quite a bit and Ive only just tried it - but already impressed. xx

You,ve done really well, good for you. Goals?!!! I stopped smoking over 3 years ago, never thought i would do it but i did. Have put a stone on since, i know its not a great deal but it is to me. Its all on my tummy cos i,m eating more. I do the new Davina dvd 7minute fit and walk my dog 2 to 3 times aday. I,m always on the go but can,t loose it. Whats myfitnesspal all about?x

same here...week one and two went well then, all down hill there after...i am starting again on monday . So i am keeping my fingers crossed you can restrain from popping them there cookies in your mouth.....good luck with that one x

I only broke one bit of cookie off and ate it unlike yesterday when i ate 2 large ones. This is so hard, it really is mind over matter, good luck for next week x

I've been raiding the cupboards like Old Mother Hubbard today. Sadly they weren't bare ...

Over the last few days I've started to realise how much I hate the sickly sweet smell when I open the biscuit barrel. I count that as a minor milestone along my route to re-educating my stomach to send the right signals, and my brain to interpret them correctly. I didn't expect to be altering the way my brain interpret food tastes and smells, but that's what appears to be happening.

Count your cookie cooking session as a minor slip along the way. You've realised it probably wasn't the best of ideas - come here to own up - and will, in all probability learn about yourself, and your needs, from it. As long as you learn something along the way there is nothing wrong.

Onwards and downwards! (or something like that). :)

You are so right...........i came on here to own up, how honest am i. I hope i can retrain my brain into actually wanting to eat healthy and not be so fussed on the crap.........cos it is crap, thankyou x

Im so pleased for her, she had bin suffering all those years, thankyou for that x

You will do - but dont expect to do it all at once. If you are a bit of a cookie monster then maybe think about switching to low cal sweet treats to start off with, just to get it under control, then when you feel like raiding the cupboards, you can have your little sweet treat but it isnt going to do too much damage. then the next week, start swapping your little sweet snacks for fruit, the week after, try going without the snacks in between meals. You will get there eventually but i think habits are hard to break. On the plus side, you've already retrained your brain not to smoke (massive congrats on that!!) so you can retrain it to do other things as well.

My fitnesspal - it's a little app that you can install on your phone or just use the website. Means you can track your calories every day, and also factor in your exercise. It works out how many calories you have burned doing any exercise which is helpful because it took me half an hour of sweaty nastiness today to burn 270 cals - and that does put me off abusing the biscuits. It also lets you track how much you're losing on your wobbly bits - which is really helpful when you maybe don't lose weight but you mysteriously lose inches. It also looks like it makes graphs for you - this might not float your boat but I am discovering my inner nerd. xx

Yes they do say just cos you,ve done a work out dont ruin t by treating yourself. Thankyou so much for your input, will have a look at my fitnesspal x
