Hi I have been following SW for over a year on and off and if anything I have gained weight. I have decided today that to help me to lose weight I need to calorie count and reduce my potion size. I have quite a lot of weight to lose and just need to stay motivated. Any tips?

Hi Dissij
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section on the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members here have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start along with a photo so you can see the changes on the days when the scales don't move.
We have weigh-ins everyday, Wednesday are full at the moment, but feel free to join us on any other day. You can find the Weigh-ins posted on the Home page in the Events section. Just click on the post in Events and state your starting weight, what you would like to lose and any loss/gain or maintain you have had over the week.
To get the best from the forum be active. Share experiences, ideas and tips. Read through some of the posts in the Topic section they are good for motivation and very inspiring.
Have a good first week.

Hi, welcome. I think you need to be honest with yourself if you want to do this. I see people who say they aren't losing and don't know why but then I see them having toast, buiscuits, cake for people's birthday. They don't seem to notice when they eat it. Is snacking something you do? If so, you might want to stop that before you look at meals. If you don't snack then portion size and maybe cutting carbs can help. Good luck!
Welcome to the forum. I have today cancelled my weight watchers subscription as i wasnt really getting any where and thought i will start calorie counting. I would suggest you set yourself small targets that are easily reachable and reward yourself when you reach them. Take it day by day and dont despair if you have a bad day we are all human and it happens to us all. Everyone on here is friendly and supportive so you have come to the right place good luck.
Thank you I am really looking forward to it. I do think with SW I do over eat because I can, with calorie counting it will be much easier to control what I eat.
