Can anyone recommend DVD for beginners with yoga and Pilates. Now I've started to shift some weight without exercise, I want to start with this and also some walking when the weather begins to improve. I've checked on Amazon but don't know which to go for. I need to add that I have no coordination whatsoever!!

I would always recommend a qualified teacher for yoga or Pilates, in order to get the best out of it, but I don't have any experience of DVDs, I have to say. Well done on your seven pounds, that's the badge I'm aiming for.

I'd definitely recommend yoga to anyone, I have been practising weekly for just over a year and and appart from the physical benefits I am finding it is helping me to bring down stress levels, stay focussed in my goals and appreciate more what matters in life. I can also recommend the following...

Enjoy! 😊

I would echo the comment about a good teacher with preferably not too big a class and say you haven't done it before to the teacher. However, failing that, you could try some of the thousands of excellent youtube videos. Lots of sessions from a few minutes to an hour or more. Oh, and if anything hurts; stop!

Good luck!

I use Lynne Robinson's Pilates DVDs. I found them very helpful for getting me started. I agree that a teacher/class is better but not everyone can get to a class. Lynne's DVDs are good for beginners.

There is a fantastic app called Asana Rebel, there are so many different types of pilates for all different experience. You can pick if you want to do flexibility, strength, cardio and then some, also it tracks how many calories you will have burnt in that exercise. I used to use it before bed (6 minute routine) all the time. Unfortunately there are some many dvds your likely to get stuck with a boring generic one, id recommend the app or joining a local class.

Good luck trust me youl be addicted in no time
