Hi and welcome, Morska
I'm sure you'll find meat and dairy free recipes in the Recipes/Meals/Snacks Topic, to the right of your page and you can always search online
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the 12 week plan, as many people have been successful following it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
I found some recipes that might be good for you also on nhs./change4life-beta/recipes hope some of them are. Take care.
The vegetarian society website has loads you can google it or download an app for tablet or smartphone. They don't seem to have calorie counts though.
Hi Zest sorry that this doesn't seem to be working I will have a look and double check this for you and let you know sometime today for you. Hopefully it won't take me too long. X
It's ok Zest i have the answer for you but don't worry I didn't rush, I couldn't do it immediately so done it when I had the time. It only took me 5 mins to do. I just went on the NHS website nhs.uk then in the search term I wrote in recipes and you get lots of different choices of recipe companies like change4life which is what I used and got the calorie content from them too and there are many more for you to also choose from if any of them you prefer. There are many different choices. Hope some of these help you or anyone else that decides to use them. Good luck!
Hello morska, I have just seen your message of fifteen days ago. My go to cook book is the" River Cottage Veg everyday!" by Hugh Fearnley- Whittingstall. A lot of the recipes do include dairy but most of them he gives a vegan alternative and I find I can adapt many of them myself. Nick Knowles has also just brought out a book called "Proper Healthy Food" mainly vegan with some dairy. If you don't want to buy books there are an increasing number of vegan recipes on line. Just google and you will be surprised what comes up. I have found that several of the lovely people on this forum are vegan so you will never be short of support. Keep in touch and good luck on the journey.X
