Hello missussim , I'm envious of your 11stone! Would it be worrh re calculating your calorie allowance? Not sure fasting is the way to go, your body will think your starving it and hold on to the weight. Have you tried eating different things and maybe have a shake up of your exercise, I know in the past these things have helped me. I don't know how much you have lost, but I do know it gets harder as you become lighter. It's a beautiful sunny day here. If you are able get out and have a walk and see if you can get your motivation back, you can do it, keep plodding on🌻

Don't be envious lol....i think our genes are also partly to blame....like mother like daughter? shape wise and everything...but of course, if one continued with the exercising relentlessly you would eventually get to your ideal weight i say

I know how you feel, missussim, it's frustrating when things grind to a halt, when you're still working so hard. I tried fasting, but that just made me hungrier the next day, I hope it works better for you, because I know a lot of people have success with it :)

I've decided to deliberately maintain for a month, to give my body a break, then I'll get back to it with new energy and hope that my body co-operates :)

Wishing you all the best :)

Hi Missussim yes try alternate diets can speed up metabolism so I have read somewhere, so if you want to fast try the 5:2 or one of the variations (4:3, 3:4, 2:5) for a week or two as the safest way to do it. If you don't lose weight on 5:2 try 4:3 etc. Good luck. Jp.

hi JacksonPollock, yes its d weekend again and I want to see if d 5:2 diet will work for me. That means I have to eat only 500 calories for the entire day today and another 500 calories tomorrow. I'm certainly not going to miss my first meal of the day - cooked porridge with keffir, honey and walnuts and goji berries. Its what to eat for lunch, tea and dinner I could with some suggestions and advice 😊 anyone??

To Missussim, how many calories are in your breakfast, that way I can know what calories you have left to determine lunch and dinner.

sorry, i dont know, perhaps i should jus stick to fish and protein diet...as porridge is carbs already right? maybe a slice of brown bread

Porridge is a good food, don't worry about that, but if you are not portion controlling you will put on the weight. Do you measure how many grams of oats you put into a bowl - that would be a good start, and how many walnuts do you put in (in grams?) these things you could do with knowing even if you only weigh once - you will see how much is in a portion and then determine how many calories.

hi JacksonPollock, i posted my reply below rather than here....ooops...anyway after cooking my porridge today (il measure how much i put into the pan so I will know what calorie intake for the breakfast will be) i did however measure the walnuts, hazelnuts and linseed...i put in ...all less than an ounce in weight.. 2 tblsps of kefir and a heated telson of honey? any ideas what calorie intake that would have been?

I agree completely. No, I just pour what I think will be a good amount in a small saucepan, add water, let it cook, then add two spoons of natural yoghurt to it or kefir as ive run of it, some linseed, walnuts and goji berries...that sounds so good just talking it about it lol haha...but you are right, i think i will weigh the amount of porridge today and count how many of walnuts i put in, if that, sometimes its almonds or cashew nuts....thanks for your suggestions

To Missussim, well there is at least 200 calories in the nuts and honey to start, and I imagine the oats will be another 200, that doesn't leave a lot of calories for lunch and dinner. Maybe you should have porridge mix on non diet days. You can find out the calorie content by measuring in grams, then do search on Internet, for example 'calorie content of 50g oats' and see what you get. Good luck. Jp.
