Hi John, welcome to the community. You'll get lots of support here and whatever your question, there is usually someone on the forum with a bit of useful advice on the subject. If you haven't already seen it, there is a Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned Posts section on the right of the screen and lots of challenges and weigh ins if you choose to join any of them. I've no doubt your computer skills are far superior to mine and I seem to be able to find my way around the website ok. If you're just starting, I would recommend the NHS 12 week plan and the BMI calculator is great to find guide you on how many calories a day are suitable for your height and activity levels. This has certainly worked wonders for me and I hope it does for you too. I did try a fitbit, but gave up because I couldn't get it to communicate with my phone; now I just keep walking or exercising until I'm tired and don't think about the calories much at all. Good luck x

Hi JohnDane557

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbies post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or if your on a mobile at the bottom. Have a look at the nhs 12 plan, many members including myself have had success with this plan. Use the BMI checker to make sure you are have the correct daily allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects which might help you.

Take your measurements and a photo at the start of your journey as this can be motivating when the scales don't move.

We have weigh-ins every day. Come and join us today, you can find them posted on the Home page in the Events section. Just click on the post and state your starting weight and what you are aiming to lose this week.

To get the best out of the forum be active, share experiences and ideas. Read some of the posts in the Topic section, they are good for inspiration and can keep us motivated.

Good luck with your first week.

Rose
