Is too much fibre going to affect my weight loss??? I actually don't feel like I've had much (I have IBS so have to manage this!) but my fitness pal says I've had over my allowance??

Weight loss happens when you use up more calories than you consume. It doesn't matter really whether those calories come from fibre, fat or protein in that respect. I know I need to consume less than 1500 calories a day to lose weight. I eat a very varied diet and count calories using MyFitnessPal. When I stick to it, it works!

Thanks! This is what I thought just wanted to double check

I would argue that eating plenty of fibre would actually aid weight loss! I know when I eat plenty of fibrous food I tend to feel full for longer and blood sugar levels are better too so no cravings or crashes if that makes sense? I think your friend is a little miss-informed unless she meant over your limit due to your IBS? I suffer from IBS too, although mine is usually irritation through stress or sudden changes. I think mine has improved since eating better and that meant more fibre. Only you can know what works best for you, we're all different so what might be considered too much for your friend may not be so for you. I hope you find what works for you. :)

Hi, my fitness pal is an app it counts your calories etc. I know this is what i thought that a lot of fibre was good, my IBS seems to flare up when I have too much fibre so i know i definitely haven't... which kind of makes me question the app. But hey as long as I am on the right path that is ok.

Thanks :D

You'll be "regular" (pooing!) and I guess if you have loads and loads it might give you the runs. Good for you for eating plenty, though!
