After making all sorts of reasons (excuses) for not getting on with it, I am finally ready to start losing weight. I have to. Over the last 30 years I've yoyoed massively, but never lost a significant amount. I need to. Have bought a cross trainer (£8 gumtree - it was meant to be) and looked at it for a couple of months, I've given myself a kick up the backside. Have also signed up for Dry January so ready to completely overhaul my eating habits. Hope to get some support from here, have been to slimming clubs but cynically think they just want my money....
Hi Amanda, great, we can do this! Have had two alcohol free days, to try and make Dry January a bit less of a shock!! No more yoyos, let's get this weight gone...
Lol, same here twinny, I've also swapped my beloved toast/crumpets with butter for three pieces of fruit for breakfast. Tried to get on the scales yesterday but the battery was flat, so was saved that embarrassment. Feeling positive and determined........ Let's do this !!!!!!!!
I am NOT getting on scales till Sunday! Slightly dreading it to be honest. But am also going to our Great Run Local at 9.30 on Sunday morning where I will drag my tonnage round! No doubt there won't be much running on my part but even walking is a start! Deffo keep in touch- we clearly have the same sense of humour!
Sounds like a great start. I got a battery for my scales and found out I was a stone heavier than the fatty than I thought I was. Slightly deflated, but on the plus side I manage a 3.6 mile walk with the dogs. Slight cheat..... Ate the last slice of chocolate log, but ate it quickly so that doesn't count does it lol
Ooh bet that was a bit of a shock. I have weightwatchers scales but they're terrible, you get on three times, you get three different weights. Hopeless. We have scales at work for sending parcels, they go up to 120kgs, I may use them once a week, when nobody is looking at the numbers! Actually, that's a good idea! Why didn't I think of it before?
