If you look at the topics, to the right of your screen, Hj, you'll see one entitled Recipes/Meals/Snacks. You're bound to find something there to whet your appetite!
Here's a link to the breakfasts
Heya, you could try making overnight oats the night before.. just mix lots plain yogurt with some porridge oats and leave in fridge overnight. you can add berries, honey, nuts etc. ☺
I have the sachets of Quaker Oats for porridge in the microwave. It takes 2 & 1/2 mins. Just add raspberries and a little honey & nuts.
Delicious!
Hi there
I'm finding healthy living is about being pretty tightly organised.
So for me a quick breakfast is a bit about the order of events. So the microwave porridge for example is a great brekkie, but takes ages to cool (for me anyway, not great with hot foot!) so I start it in the microwave when I wake and then go eat it after my bathroom routine.
My current brekkie however is eggs, I whisk em up before my shower, set them cooking while I'm dressing. I hear microwaved eggs are a thing too so maybe look that up. Good luck.
I don't have much time in the morning either so I just prepare something in the evening and leave it in the fridge. I like protein for breakfast because it keeps me full until lunch so I can concentrate on my work without a grumbling stomach. When I don't have time to cook in the evening I just get a can of tuna and a can of corn and mix them (as much or as little corn as I want), it's very easy and delicious to me. Also, some salmon on a toast is quick and easy. During avocado season I would just eat the whole avocado with a spoon and that's it.
Basically, just think of your favourite foods, opt for a healthy option and prepare it in the evening. Or choose the foods that don't need cooking.
If the problem is that you don't have time to eat in the morning, not only to cook, I find smoothies great on the go. You can just sip one in a car, a bus or wherever you are going.
I hope this helps
I cannot abide cooked porridge in any way, shape or form but I can get them down if I have them uncooked. Three dessertspoonfuls = 35g + 100g defrosted mixed berries + milk = a bowlful of perfectly acceptable - and very speedy - breakfast.
I make overnight oats with fruit and yoghurt which I eat on the train to work and that works really well for me ...... But not this morning as I forgot my spoon!!
What has helped me is to spend two minutes making porridge. I add some honey and in fact it is delicious with some fruit / sultanas. I do not feel hungry again until about 3pm ! Slow Burn - try it ! I feel fantastic and the weight is going down too.
I have weetabix and berries on a work day
I find porridge doesn't keep me going for long. I have 3-4 tablespoons of Total full fat plain yogurt. Or you could try eggs cooked the night before.
I normally have shredded wheat topped with fruit to have a quick breakfast
Big bowl - put one measure - say a ramakin dish of oats in the bowl. Add two measures of cold water. Microwave for 2 minutes. Make your coffee while this is cooking.
I swore by eggs when I was losing weight. Whisk them the night before if you like, for a 3 minute omelette. or hard boiled ...very satisfying kept me away from the mid morning biscuits !
The quickest breakfast I have if I am in a hurry is just to grab a banana. I also buy scones and just shove a bit of butter on. I can't face cooking in the morning so something I can grab easily is a must for me. x
