Hello everyone,I think most of my diet is ok,exercise is good.My eating problem comes from my sweet tooth.Cant resist puddings ,usually followed by biscuits.Never going to stop so need low calorie information ,any ideas?

My husband and I like a pudding. We compromise by having something small such as one of the chocolate bars from Tesco linked below. Have a satisfying first course, and make sure you savour the pudding - eat it slowly and don't stare at the tv while eating. And don't buy biscuits
How about making a sugar free jelly with fruit in it?

I don't eat sugar, in any form, for several different reasons. Firstly, it's addictive, so the more I have, the more I want. I can't eat a small amount of sweet stuff, it's all, or nothing, so I've opted for nothing. Secondly, sugar is just empty calories, it has no nutritional value at all and when every calorie counts, I choose not to waste mine on something that isn't going to nourish my body. Thirdly, fructose is actually harmful to your body and can lead to all sorts of different conditions, that I really don't need. This is my personal approach to sugar and you'll find that everyone is different. You'll have to choose for yourself, which option you go for and you'll find many recipes in the Recipes/Meals/Snacks Topic, to the right of your screen, that you may enjoy

I have to agree with moreless and concerned, and I now have very little sugar, but it took me a while to get here 😕 I used to have a little every day as a ' treat' but this is a slippery slope. One change that does help is eating more earlier in the day, especially complex (slow release) carbs. this seems to prevent the mid afternoon sugar cravings I used to get.
Whilst we are all different, and some people can have a little, I prefer to have calories in other ways. I'm not very tall and 1400 calories doesn't go very far!!! Lol 😊 The biggest change for me was giving up diet soft drinks, this was affecting my taste buds, and now I find sweetness in fruit and vegetables enough. 😊
Another issue I have is eating too fast, before my body has chance to say 'enough, you are full' so a piece of fruit, chopped up or peeled takes time to eat and provides a useful 'full stop'. 😊
If I am really wanting something sweet, if I'm especially tired for example, dried fruit is helpful, but watch the portion size 😊
Many thanks for all the suggestions .Old habits ,been eating puddings since I was a babe[a long while ago]so its going to be difficult to change.Stopping smoking was hard this maybe harder.I will start on the smaller portion less fat for a start,go from there.
It's important to create new habits, so have a bit of self belief, anything is possible, it just takes time, 😊
If you have stopped smoking you must have very strong self will. That's amazing, very well done 😊

Well done on stopping smoking. I did so after 50 years cigarette smoking do I know how hard that was. I'm not saying you will find this easy but whereas with smoking , in spite of all the aids, there is only one thing that truly satisfies the craving i.e. A cigarette , with weight loss there are lots of healthy alternatives to choose from.
Me too!!!! I have started making icecream and lollies, which are basically soya yoghurt with coconut - really lowcal but no added nasties - and pureed fruit. So so yummy, and feels like an actual pudding. Melon is good too, and banana in yoghurt. I haven't given up sugar because I don't want to 'give up ' anything - I have a rebellious mind so telling myself I'm not allowed somethingis usually counter pproductive! ! But counting calories is a good framework within which to make good choices, and I'm gradually finding myself choosing less sugar. This is only my week 4 though, so hopefully it will continue to get easier. Good luck - and let me know any good ideas!!!
