I've certainly not conquered this, but when I'm focused I do use the following strategy!

I like wine and a takeaway at the weekend, and if I didn't allow myself to have them, I'd have them anyway 😉

So, I work out my weekly total of calories and subtract 2600 from the total ( this more than covers a bottle of wine and takeaway). I then divide what's left between 7 for my daily allowance.

It means I have a daily allowance of 1400 which is plenty ( NHS recommends between 1700 and 2100 Cals) and have 'saved up' for my treats. Because I know I'm having them, I can manage the rest of the week.

My weight loss has been slow, averaging a pound a week, but it works for me!

Lots of people will have different strategies and will be along to help, but this is mine ☺️

That is a good approach to the weekend problem. Logically even though we know it's the average over a week that matters , most of us still get fazed by one day's overindulgence!

I havent solved this problem either! i think though that im going to let myself have a daily dessert that i make myself, like greek yogurt and fruit and honey. A bit naughty but not as bad as me going nuts at the weekend with cheesecake and brownies!

This is one of my problems too, however I allow myself an odd treat and as long as I don't overdo it I still lose about a 1lb a week but I do the 5-2 diet which helps with that for me plus I have hockey on a Saturday so the exercise helps too! I've had a cheeky slice of cheesecake for dessert today so hopefully will be ok for weigh-in tomorrow!

I'm the very same! I was actually on the verge of changing my weigh in day to a Friday as I really go off the rails at the weekend. This weekend has been a bit busier so I'm hoping that this will have made a difference. Fingers crossed x

When I was losing I always weighed on a Friday only.. it usually gave me encouragement.

But since Ive been maintaining I weigh every other day just to see the trend. And the trend is that I fluctuate up and down 0-3 lbs through the week, every week. That's normal !

BUT the danger of weighing on friday is not so much that you eat like crazy at the weekend , it is the danger that you might not go back to healthy eating on monday. So for most people, a monday weigh in is probably safest.

I like a special tea on a Friday night and a Saturday night , so plan for something usually home made like a pizza, or curry , or Chinese. I suppose it's a home away type tea. Any way it seems to keep me on track. I also have chocolate on one of the two nights :-)

Weekends are usually more difficult especially for me also. Going to work during the week prevents the binge but when u bored at home theeen u eat everything in sight. I think the leaving out calories for a cheat meal is the best idea so far

I build in a little treat every day because I know that if I think I am giving up things I enjoy for good, I'd be setting myself up for failure. As jingleberry said everyone finds the strategy that works for them.

I am trying to keep busy to counteract it. I do extra exercise and some gardening to earn a treat
