Mrs_RY good luck, I have the same amount to lose roughly i'm not finding to hard going at the mo, I think it is because I have prepared myself mentally for this for sometime. I am of the mindset of making changes for life and not just a diet. I have started the nhs 12 week plan, I am currently on week 2 where exercise is key and I am a bit sore from yesterday's attempt at running! What are your plans for weight loss?

Good morning Mrs_RY and welcome to the NHS Weight Loss Forum. It's a very friendly, encouraging and helpful site, where we are all on the same journey to health.

I can't add much to what Hidden has already given you. All that I would add is if you haven't already, please read the Welcome Newbies post. It's in the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen, (bottom if you're on a mobile). It has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a great place to start. It doesn't give a specific diet plan, but gives guidelines for healthy eating. Also take a look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. You may also like to check out how many calories you should have each day using the BMI checker.

Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you 'follow' Lowcal and moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page. The weigh in is entirely voluntary, but I find it helps keep me accountable.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration. 😄

Enjoy the forum, and I wish you success with your goals.

Good luck 😀

Thank you for the warm welcome guys. I plan to follow the meal plans on nhs and stick within my kcal limit, i have also found gentle workout for beginners i can do at home for now as im not used to any sort i exercise at all and im not confident around other people. I have been lazy and going around with (i dont want to know) blinkers on but its time to stop that and do something about it. My husband is supportive but he tends to shout is views across and it doesnt help that hes never gained weight in his whole life and without any kind of diet at all, Hes told me this group is pointless that i dont need it but i feel i do need it. I have a very weak will with sticking to eating plans and exercise but i am seriously wanting to stick to this my BMI is 44.9 and its getting dangerous for me to carry on as i am.

Hi Mrs_RY. It's so hard to do it alone and this forum is great for support and motivation. Always someone to respond to and lots of info to read. The first 2 weeks may be hard but stick with it and you will soon get used to eating within your calorie allowance. Once you see those pounds shifting it will spur you on. Good that you have found some gentle exercises to do as they can only help with your weight loss too. Best of luck 😀
