Bad day, followed by a bad evening

Oh goodness me. I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today, and the same can be said for my very cheeky girls who, whilst their dad has been away working all week (and for the rest of the week!) have been incredibly challenging today! They have put biro all over the leather sofa. How do you even get that off?!? I have been in a foul mood all day, and have wanted to eat crap food all day. The craving disappeared and lunch was relatively nutritious, a nice tikka chicken and brown rice salad. BUT, come 6 o clock, the biscuits found themselves in my mouth followed by four slices of pizza. And now, I FEEL AWFUL. I am so disappointed in myself. I hope tomorrow isn't the same. I must make better choices!

Hope your days have been much better than mine! Over and out ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ด

xx

Tomorrow is a new day. Don't be too hard on yourself. But clear biscuits and the like out of your cupboards. Go out there and throw them in the bin. There - inedible, gone, not in/on your belly :-)

Thank you PippiRuns , hopefully tomorrow will be better! I'm not sure exactly what happened today, but it was a blip for sure! And if I chucked the biscuits in the bin, there would be an absolute uprising of fury in this household! I think they will have to be locked in the boot of my other halfs car when he returns from work and he can dish them out appropriately (ie. Not to me ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

Not sure it comes out tbh. When I had really bad morning sickness last year I was lying down on the sofa and my then 3 year old drew permanent marker all over the dining table. Even to this day I don't know where she got it from. She had her crayons and colouring book and the pen somehow got mixed in with her things. I think now the years have gone on I worry less about stuff like that. You really have to if you want to remain sane lol

My hubby works nights and on his nights off he works a second job 6-10 so we don't see him that much. It is pretty stressful and it can get very overwhelming at times, but when they ask "mummy what do dinosaurs eat?" for the billionth time that day or say "mummy i really love you" it makes it worth it. They grow so fast and we'll never get that time back, so give yourself a break and know you're doing a great job and the hardest one in the world.

Regarding weight, we all do it, I've been doing it a lot recently, but just draw a line under today and start afresh tomorrow.

The problem when you don't live alone is that you do need those "bad" foods in the house, so you have to try to resist it. I am an all or nothing girl, so I can't stop after one and will end up eating 4 or 5, but maybe build those treats into your allowance so you know you have something nice to look forward to. Maybe when the girls are in bed with a cup of tea?

Good luck hun ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi Hidden , how are you doing? ๐Ÿ™‚ Ahh I think steam came out of my ears when I saw it, but what can you say to a not quite two year old who is also ecstatic with their artwork?! I'll find a way, but for now, it's being left. You're right, it's not important in the grand scheme of things!

It's hard work, and I know so many of us do it on our own most of the time but today was particularly challenging! Jack has been working non stop this week and my mother in law is in Dubai and usually she pops round on a Tuesday evening, so it just seems to be dragging.

I will be starting again tomorrow, have my meals prepped and ready to go, no slipping up this time! But perhaps a cup of tea and a biscuit would be alright occasionally ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜†

Have a great day x

I'm good thanks. Not doing too well on the weight loss front, but it's half term ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

But I'm good at giving advice, just not so good at following it myself lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ I know I will get there eventually.

You sound like you're well prepared, well done ๐Ÿ‘

Have a lovely weekend and take care ๐Ÿ’œ

It's just today, don't let it ruin the rest of the week. You've been so positive since you started the 12 week plan, don't let a bad day put you off track.

Thank you Tailsmo , I'm not going to let it dampen my spirit much longer. Tomorrows a new day :)

As disastrous as the day may have been, provided youโ€™ve continued to maintain a daily calorie deficit for the vast majority of the week, in addition to exercising, one day of slight excess isnโ€™t going to upset the balance too greatly. It may have happened, but just put it behind you and donโ€™t dwell upon it.

On the assumption that youโ€™re still finding the time to run (with the husband working away), when you next get back out there, hopefully, placing one foot in front of the other will allow a sense of perspective (on the dayโ€™s events) to prevail.

Hi MrNiceGuy ,

The day was well and truly disastrous, but Monday and Tuesday were brilliant and I'm certain that I can't afford any more slip ups the rest of the week! It's more the mental defeat for me, even being within calorie allowance! And yes, I'll be running again tomorrow evening, although probably not until late which is better for me as most people are watching the tele, and chilling out by then so I have free reign! Week 2, run 2! It'll do me good I think, and remind me why I am doing this. X

Today may have been difficult, but hopefully tomorrow's run will help clear your head, allowing you to return home with a renewed sense of vigour, since that's one of many benefits that the activity encourages.

Trust me, as a runner of over 20 years, very little beats the satisfaction and contentment felt in the hours afterwards (known as the runner's high), even if the legs do feel weary.

I do sympathise. I had many such days when my daughter was little (52 now so you do survive๐Ÿ˜œ) and my hubby was still in the merchant navy, away for months at a time. As the others have advised, today's a new day and in my ( personal ) opinion I agree thT the occasional cuppa with biscuit can't be bad. I know if I had cut out all little treats like that I would have set myself up for failure. Good luck with today.

I totally sympathise with you and relate to your situation. I've got a 20 month old gorgeous little girl who only started getting teeth when she was 14 months old. Yesterday she was teething all day long and was awake from 6:30 am until 7pm!! I ended up falling asleep whilst watching CBeebies ๐Ÿ˜ณ :D :D Mr Fizz is a chef so I didn't see him until late yesterday and only spoke to him once during the day. He brought me home a bottle of cider and packet of prawn n cocktail crisps :D :D

I'm hoping today will be a better day for you and me. She's not yet up and Mr Fizz is looking after her after breakfast whilst I tackled the mountain of admin!!!

P.S. Don't bother trying to remove the biro. Stick a throw over the sofa for now ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Marks on the furniture, holes in doors, cracked tiles - believe me when the kids have grown and flown these will become treasured reminders of happy days.
