first post,just really want to be healthier,can't afford slimming club,need some like minded souls to kick me up the bum,(so to speak!)

You've come to the right place lizzie42 !

Lots of like minded people here for support, I've found it really helpful being able to share things I'm finding difficult/unsure on etc.

There is a post for newbies in the pinned posts section, take a look. There is also a weekly weigh in on a Monday which I believe is run alternately between Zest and moreless , two of the admin here to help. I am finding it really helpful in working towards manageable goals. Good luck!

HI lizzie42. You have definitely come to the right place. This forum is the best place for support and motivation. Its 24/7 and you can do as much as you want - such as read posts, join in with some of the challenges, comment on posts and join the Monday weigh in. I believe the NHS 12 week plan is so much better than any slimming club as it helps you retrain your eating so that you can keep the weight off for good and it's free!!! Best of luck :)

Welcome to the NHS Weight Loss Forum here on HealthUnlocked - this forum is a great place for support, motivation and inspiration to lose weight.

Take a look at the NHS 12 Week Plan, it contains recipes and exercise plans to follow for the first twelve weeks of your journey.

Take a look at the left of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile device) and find the 'Pinned Posts' section, here you can find various challenges that are going on in the forum (take part in whatever ones take your fancy - if any do at all!), there is also a recipe collation there and any important posts from Admin :)

Also to your left is the 'Topics' area, here you can find posts related to each topic, it's good if you are looking for something specific :)

The Monday Group Weigh In takes place weekly and is posted alternately by Zest and moreless (who are also our site admins), a morning session post is put live just before 06:30 and runs until midday, while the afternoon session runs from midday until 18:00 on the Friday of that week - yesterday's afternoon session is still open, so, if you wish, you can go and post your starting weight there :P

All that remains is to wish you a great first week on the forum - be involved because it's where we get our boost each day

Thats great, I start off so well on a Monday but slowly downhill as the week progresses and by the weekend there just is no stopping me :(, then start again on a Monday, seems to be a vicious cycle with me. I'm determined to beat it though with the help of fellow supporters :)

omg I totally get u,if weeks only lasted until Friday and there was no bread in the world ,I would be a size 10,I always get to Friday night and think "well done" then treat myself all weekend!! Arrggghh,why can't I stop! At least im exercising,one thing at a time,keep it up Anita,good this ,knowing people just the same as me!!, good luck

LOL, it's the brain training!!!! I'm on steriod tablets that make me hungry all the time, all I want to do it eat, not a good thing for my weight. Glad you doing well though, keep it up. x
