Weighed myself this morning and have lost 3lb since last time I weighed. So in just over 5 weeks I have lost 10lb, the target I set myself to do by the end of July. I know this may not seem a huge loss to some in 5 weeks, but for me I am pleased. I want to really enjoy life and food, not get too hung up on counting calories, fat, etc... make this my lifelong journey. So, as long as I am losing this blubber bit by bit, I am happy.
I can now comfortably get into a pair of cropped jeans that were rather restrictive 5 weeks ago. Still not fitting in other stuff yet, but hey, one item if clothing is better than none. I have also bagged up 6 items that are now too big and given them to a friend.
I am now 220lb. My next target is 199lb by my birthday on 1st November. So 21lb in just over 16 weeks. Like I said, i'm taking it slow. It will be fabby to be in the 100s instead of the 200s.
Hope everyone else is managing to keep on track. Have a good week all.

Hey Shellie that's really good, especially after only 5 weeks. They say 1-2lb a week is a good rate to aim for, and you're definitely managing that. That's great you're seeing the difference in your clothes too. Your goal to be under 200lb sounds manageable, hopefully you'll get there a lot sooner than november and be fitting into more clothes along the way

Thanks Ruth. 1lb a week is fine by me, achievable without feeling you are going without. My daughter is trying to talk me into doing Insanity with her, 1500 kcals per day and the exercise regime. I have watched her over the last 10 days, and it WOULD be insanity if I tried at this weight! Daughter is within her weight to height range but wants to be at the lower end rather than higher, and also wants to really tone up. She has lost 6lb in weight, but an unbelievable 12cm off her waist and 6cm each off her bust and hips in just 10 days. Impressive, and am seriously proud of her commitment. Nearly cried when she told me how proud she was that I was tackling this weight too, but that she loved me no matter what size I was. 😄

That does sound amazing. I'm trying to get to the top of my healthy range, starting from about 1 1/2 stone overweight. It may not seem like a lot but I was getting nowhere before, in fact I was at risk of carrying on gaining. I think losing weight is one thing, but doing it sustainably is another thing, and we're all doing it differently because sustainable weight loss works differently for different people. Slowly is suiting me just fine for now. Look forward to seeing how you progress, even if you're going to give insanity a miss for now!
Great news, S - well done. So the right attitude! Onwards and downwards
Well done. I'm new here so interested in how other people are getting on. 10lb in 5 weeks is brill. They do say to lose it slowly as it will stay off. Keep up the good work
Well done Shellie for reaching your target early, you have also reached another important milestone,100kg, so next week you will be down in double figures!!
I think you are doing the right thing by taking your weight loss slowly and setting yourself realistic long term goals. Celebrate when you reach any milestones that comes along, by my reckoning your next ones will be, under 100kg, 15st 7lbs, 2st lost, to name a few. Congratulations for all you have already achieved and the new healther you.
Didn't click with the kilograms, lol. Have to get the bit between my teeth to lose 2.2 lb and definately be in double digits ( would be awful if it ended up 99.5, lol, would feel cheated somehow). 😊
What ever you lose you will still be less then 100kg, so I wouldn't worry about comes after the decimal point, lol. I know how pleased I was a few weeks ago when I broke the 100kg barrier.
