I joined this forum a few months ago but this is my first post. I really recommend the twelve week planner because it's disciplined me with regards to daily exercise. At first I was tracking my calories religiously but I've tailed off over the Summer (!). However, after six weeks of following the planner I had developed a habit of walking 20 mins per day in my weekday lunchbreak (in addition to any of my usual exercise) and have lost half a stone just through the calories burnt from the extra 100 minutes per week. I know this doesn't seem much but as someone who was just over the 25 BMI marker it has pushed me back into the 24-25 zone and broken a psychological barrier.

Hello JCR24 and welcome. Congratulations on breaking a significant barrier
I found the 12 week plan gave me a structured approach to planning meals, managing portions and getting more balance into my diet overall. I appreciate the fact that it gave me the time to make changes, step by step, so I never really felt deprived as I found my tastes gradually changed, once I made different food choices.
I have been a great fan of the 12-week NHS plan since I started in July 2017. A few wobbles along the way but the discipline of putting in your calories gets to be a habit and now there is a guilty itch when some days are undisclosed. Over the months my desire for chocolate, cream and cheese has diminished, I still love wine (am married to a wine buff who is quite critical of my glugging but sometimes buys some lovely stuff for me!!!) and actually its easier to stop drinking for a few weeks every now and again to help.
Also there is a pony to ride, so if the weight goes on there is the guilt of paying the keep for him, when, knowing I am too heavy, I don't ride, so...……….. Don't you sometimes hate the fact that you have the intelligence to know the problem - then smile because it was common sense that brought you here anyway.
Enjoy your day and look forward to many more.
That's great, well done! I haven't tried the planner since I went to see a health trainer at my GP surgery eighteen months ago and she completely tore into me because I ate two hot dogs at a birthday barbecue, so I have the absolute fear of it now! I'm glad it's worked well for you, I'll consider doing it at some point
