Can anybody recommend a good pair of weighing scales, that aren't to expensive? I currently have a set from Argos which cost £5 but are not very accurate.

I want to accurately track my weight loss (fingers crossed!).

Any suggestions welcome

Ever pair ofscales i've had never seemed to work right so i just pop down to boots and get weighed there, it maybe me but i find they give a better reading

I have a WW set, digital ones. I do know that they must be level (I use a level app on my phone) and on a hard floor,no carpet. Hope this helps x

Far better to weight yourself at a local sports center or boots, much more accurate and always weigh yourself at the same scales. My psychologist and overeater anonymous recommend weighing once a month.

I use Salter digital scales in the bathroom, as mentioned it's best to have them on a level hard floor, not carpet. I still weigh myself every couple of days, in the past it was the times when I wasn't weighing myself regularly that I put weight on, it can creep up all too easily again! Each to their own way of doing things.

Yes I own a pair of salter ones, they seem ok

I have a pair which were from Argos and they're digital ones, I think they cost about £15 but I'm sure you can get reasonable ones cheaper than this.

My GP pharmacy will also weigh you weekly for free - not sure if anything like this is available near you?

I line my scales up on the tiles in the bathroom so they're ALWAYS in the same place, I hope this helps to avoid any variance.

It's important to be consistent with where and how you weigh as well as how often. :) I tried weighing everyday last week but actually think I prefer weighing weekly as it doesn't raise your expectations or make you think you're doing better/worse than you really are :)

Well no, using an app, I use happy scale gives an average, I feel more focused on the average, rather than the ups and downs of weekly

I wasn't suggesting that weighing daily is wrong :) simply that I think if you weigh daily, then do it at the same time daily but if you weigh weekly then do it at the same time weekly etc to keep it consistent l.

I can see why it works for so many weighing everyday :) and I did enjoy seeing the average but I didn't do well seeing the scale go up and down throughout the week and it got my hopes up about how much I'd lose overall but I didn't lose as much as it made me think I would.

I weighed in at 14'13 three times but then weighed in on the Friday at 15'04 so I was disappointed. I can't bring myself to record my "weekly average" as my actual weight on weigh in day - is this how you do it? :)

You add the app, choose settings, add daily weight, and gives a weekly average, if you go weekly bit, it tells you, so today is my average for the previous week
