I'm not sure how to really start this when I have no motivation what so ever. I'm overweight almost obese. I seriously want to lose weight for myself... I feel uncomfortable and unenergetic... I want to be able to feel comfortable in my body again and feel energetic. Everytime I see really yummy looking food I mess up... And I'm never motivated to do anything...
Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. Itโs great that youโve joined. Most of us have been where you are just now ๐ But you have made the first, most difficult step ๐
Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread.
Look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.
Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you follow Lowcal and Moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page.
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration. This is the most difficult part, and we each have our own reasons for wanting to be slimmer and fitter. I try to ask myself "what would I prefer? The cake or to be slim?" ๐
I hope you enjoy the forum, we are a friendly bunch! Good luck and best wishes ๐
Hi Anna61 has given you the info yo need to start so welcome from me too.
Don't panic your overweight I was obese and am indeed still in that category but working towards overweight then normal. If I can do this so can you, we all get to a point that determines our rock bottom then we have to decide fat or slim? I wrote all my feelings and the benefits of not loosing weight to the benefits of loosing weight and there were not many for staying as I was.
I don't know your age but as we get to 50+ that's when our bodies revolt, we get aches, pains and many other problems that stem from being too weighty the beginning of arthritis was one of my motivators to loose weight and I am already after 20 weeks seeing good results for my weight loss.
Give yourself small goals to aim for the first 3lbs, then half a stone, 1 stone and so on.
I am on the 12 week plan it's easy to download and teaches you to make better choices as nothing is forbidden but added in your allowance.
Count everything, drink 1.5 litres of water a day and move more it doesn't have to be exercise just walking more, even cleaning the house is exercise.
Good luck keep posting your journey and best wishes Bev๐๐
