Lovely trainers, Sparky - I think the colour is great! Enjoy that running, walking, exercise. :-)

Hello Sparky66.

Although you're no doubt excited over your recent purchase, I offer the following purely out of concern, to ensure that you don't suffer from injury as a result of their use (even if it appears as though I'm peeing upon your cornflakes).

If you've not worn them outdoors yet, return them, since Karimor is no longer the great brand that it once was (thanks to its current owner who has also ruined a once great football club).

My disdain for its owner aside, while the Duma may look stylish, in addition to initially feeling comfortable upon your feet, they simply lack substance; something that'll no doubt become evident once you begin to run in them.

They may possess a soft waffled outsole (similar to that of more expensive alternatives), but the quality and durability of the blown rubber is anything but, since it fails to stand up to the force repeatedly placed through it with each footfall. However, their lack of support and cushioning will most certainly allow you to gain an appreciation of how it feels to run barefoot.

If you do decide to return them, on the assumption that you've purchased them from a particular store, the best you could hope for (in terms of a refund) is a credit note.

Nonetheless, keep the credit note for a later date (Christmas is on its way), taking yourself off to your nearest Decathlon store instead, where you'll find an array of top end running shoes and exercise attire at greatly discounted prices (also see their website: decathlon.co.uk).

In store, the running shoes are also well categorised, so you know that you're choosing the correct trainer based upon the structure of your foot and running style.

Opt for brands such as Nike, Adidas or Asics, all of whom invest time and money (research in running bio-mechanics) in the production of their products, something I very much doubt the owner of Karimor does, since his concerns simply rest upon increasing profit and personal wealth.

Well said! I used to love karimor summit for walking, but having worn out my old ones ordered another pair confident that I knew they would be ok, only to discover they have altered the material on the toe front and they now cripple me if I walk more than a mile in them!

Shame you have had a bad experience of this brand. Took mine along to my physio after my knee fracure, gained while using a as you say top quality brand.. and was assured these were perfectly suitable :)
