This is my first post although I joined an NHS 12 week weight loss programme four weeks ago at the local fitness centre. I was not feeling great about myself or my mood swings.I was looking to return to the gym with trepidation after a break of a few years as my weight had just crept up steadily after retiring and caring for my Mum. Looking back now I realise depression set in after she died and the comfort eating cycle took a hold.
Any way thank goodness I spotted this programme, self-referred myself and joined a group of lovely people all wanting to change their eating and exercise habits for the better.
I have been reading the forum comments and found the advice so useful. Thank you to everyone who posts.
Just been away for a wedding this weekend but didn't overdo it, drank sparkling water "some" of the time, had a "taste" of treats and always picked a "small plate". Mum would have been proud of me!
I feel so much better already and 8 pounds lighter since I started moving more and eating less one month ago!
Good luck and good planning to everyone !

Great that you're 8 pounds lighter, and enjoying the NHS 12 week plan so far. You're making excellent progress and I can see you're in week 4 or thereabouts now. Well done for handling the Wedding over the weekend so well - that's really great!
Oh my, what a lovely positive post to read 😊 I also struggled after losing my mum so you have my sympathy, but it's so good you have turned things around 😊 Very well done 😊🎉👏🎈
