Looking for a way to get healthy and lose weight in the best way possible and to maintain it. I lost 2.5 stone on Lighter Life and gained 12lbs back. Not good.

Hi loser weepee

Fantastic adding exercise to try and shift those unwanted pounds and swimming is probably one of the best low impact sports that you can do. I was once told off because my bikini was too tight so I've taken to just wearing my swimming shorts from now on ;-)

Onwards and downwards.

Hi and welcome Linds66 :)

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.

Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the monday group weigh-in. If you follow Zest , you'll be notified when she posts the thread. However, the latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration :)

Wishing you all the very best :)

Hi loser Linds66

Well done on your weight loss but I must say, I am not a fan of these 'diet' groups. Did you discuss why you yourself overeat in the first place? If not then, once you have come off the diet, the reason you overate in the first place will still be there so you will then just go back to being Linds66 as nothing has changed.

Most overweight people do have reasons that they overeat. Mine was depressions after being injured in the forces then my son dying. I turned to alcohol and food as my crutch. Years and years of on a diet, off a diet, came and went but I hadn't tackled the reason why. Only after sorting that out did the weight not only come off but stay off. I am talking about over 150lbs so I wasn't a pretty sight. Some say still not a pretty sight but I just think their eyesight is fading......:-)

Sit down and try to think why and, at the same time get as much help and advice from people on here to help you get to a weight where you are both healthier and above all things happier. You don't need to restrict your food intake, just change it. Make swaps and avoid all the rubbish. You know what to do and what is right and wrong..... One other thing, if you are able then exercise. Its great for the body but even better for the mind.

Good luck loser linds66
