Didn't realise I was that heavy...

Okay, so I had a look through my Shealth app to see what weights I had recorded from the start. Devastated to see that I was below 200lbs!!!!!! D: The heaviest I got was nearly 220lbs, not acceptable at all!

07 September 15 197.3lbs / 89.4kg

22 April 15 218.9lbs / 99.2kg

25 August 15 202.4lbs / 91.8kg

Target 1 200lbs / 90.7kg

Target 2 190lbs / 86.1kg

Target 3 180lbs / 81.6kg

Ideal weight goal 150lbs / 68kg

So looking at it from April to now (4 months) I have lost 16.5lbs / 7.4kgs. Little confused and frustrated that I have apparently lost over a stone and not seen any changes clothes size wise!! >.< But whatever!

My main target is 180lbs (I've removed all time restrictions and goals, just going to go with the flow now). I want to see what I look like and how I feel with my weight at 180 first. My 'ideal healthy weight' according to my BMI is 150lbs... I have quite a wide build and stand at 5ft6 - wider hips, wider shoulders - so I can't help but think 150lbs would make me look like death reincarnate?

As much as I envy my friends' tiny figures that they have with no effort. I have a great pair of boobs(!) and I think an hourglass-come-pear-shape, so I'd love to keep a slightly curvy figure. I cannot imagine myself being skinny, I literally LOVE food way too much to get to that point and maintain it - I'd have to be dining with my rabbits every day!

I don't know... Is 150 a realistic end goal...? It's a hell of a lot of weight to try and lose, even though I have no 'lose by' date.... Has anyone done it?? it's just over 50lbs / 3 stone / 22kg... whatever you go by. It's quite daunting...

Hi Plum!

Firstly, well done for losing 16.5 lbs! That's a fantastic achievement. :)

I'm similar in size to you (I'm 5'7") and have also been stuck with boobs. ;) I started at 15 stone (210lbs) and am aiming for around 10 stone as it's right in the middle of what the NHS says is my healthy range. I'm not using it as a hard and fast number though. As you say, being more of a curvy figure generally that might not work for me, which is why I'm using it more as a loose guideline to aim for. I might find that I get to 10 1/2 stone and my body wants to stay there. So no sweat, that's where I'll stay. I would like to be well in the healthy range though to give myself wiggle room.

You might try the same. Set a target and then see where it works for you. :)

And in the meantime, try setting smaller targets to get yourself going. That could be to hit a certain weight goal (like say, half a stone lost), an exercise goal (I aim for three swimming sessions per week), or a food goal (get at least 5 portions of fruit and veggies per day, cut out a daily soda, etc.). The idea being that meeting a goal gives you that positive glow that helps with motivation. Start with a gradual slope and you'll never realize until you get to the top that you've climbed the hill! :D

It also gives you a chance to reward your efforts by treating yourself to a non-food treat when you make your goal. Be that a new item of clothing, trip out, or whatever interests you.

Good luck and if we can do it, so can you!

I cannot set my self these massive goals, it just doesn't work for me 😕 I just try to focus on eating properly, enjoying being creative with the calories, and seeing tight clothes start to fit 😊 I feel better inside and out when I eat properly, no junk or sugar and smaller portions 😊 I think if we focus too much on how far we have to go it can be counter productive.

So I'm not aiming to get to a healthy BMI, I am just aiming to have a healthy week, move a bit more, and maybe the new top I bought that gapes accross my boobs will gape a little less!!

Good luck 😊

Ps currently a 'curvy' size 16 hoping to soon be a 14 😊

It is a big end goal. That's why I've made smaller ones, like the 200lbs, 190lbs.

My holiday one is 7lbs in 7 weeks.

50lbs is a lot over all, which is why it's so daunting and why I've not put a time scale on it- just reach it in my own time. I feel like even if I did 1lb a week for 50 weeks. If by the end of the 50 weeks (pretty much a year) I've not lost the 50lbs, over that length of time and no results, I'd be massively disappointed.

I think my real goal really relates to clothes size. I found an old size 12 top that I'd obviously forgotten. I've no idea how long it had been lurking around, as I can't remember when I was last a size 12!!

So my goal over all is to fit in to a size 12 anything - namely trousers as I seem to be one size smaller on top than on bottom.

So I need to lose (averaging a few shops measurements) 8 inches off of my waist and 8 inches off of my hips.

(My waist needs to be only 3 inches bigger than my thigh currently is XD!!! Eeek.)
