When I joined here on 22/10/19, I was over 5st overweight. I had a history of yoyo dieting and wasn't doing any exercise/ fitness. My initial goal was to get under 200lbs (something I'd been trying and failing to do all year!)... and achieved earlier this year), and alao to stop yoyoing forever (my previous attempts to lose weight were heavily reliant upon hardcore unsustainable methods!)
So far I've gone from a UK size 20 to a 16 and discovered a love of IF and realised that I do better by being kind to myself as opposed to simply relying on will power that always ultimately fails.
My health goals for 2020 are:
To reach my target weight/size before my birthday beginning Sept
You've set yourself a very achievable goal, Sammiseal and here's to a good year ahead
Have you ever thought about using the Daily Diary? You're a great supporter on your weigh-in team and around the forum and I'm thinking you might enjoy that daily drop-in. Have a browse and see what you think.
I have to be honest tho: I'm not grand at planning my meals in advance. I like the idea of it and will defo look at the forum posts but I don't know if I can do it π
Nothing really just walking more tbh. Gave c25k a go but had to abandon due to injury. I'm thinking running isn't for me cos that was 3rd time I'd started and failed the programme
Well done Sammiseal!!I am sure you will reach your goals in 2020!!Let's hope that all of us will! This yoyo dieting is exactly what I have done too and it is so so very tiring to put back all the lost weight!!I have done so all my life I am so happy with IF and I am only sorry that I haven't heard or paid attention to it earlier!!It is so liberating not to feel dependent on food anymore.I have not tried these longer periods of fasting that you mentioned ,but I intend to.However I have been following the 16:8 plan for 6 weeks without compromising it at all.
I truly believe that this time the weight won't creep back on!!!
Thanks Cookry! I'm sure you'll be fine this time now that you've discovered the benefits of IF! I'm a very recent convert but I love it its changed my life!
You should have celebrated your 50 th you'll have to have an extra special 51st. I had a great 50 th birthday till I looked at the pics!!!! That's when I lost my 5 st. I'll be 64 next year so by my 65th will be celebrating and slim!!!
I think it was a combo of things - being overweight on my 40th and promising myself I wouldn't have another fat birthday and here I was still fat a decade later!
The fact that I'd lost over 7st a few years before and regained 5!
Being out of work at the time..
BUT!!!
Woohoo!!! so happy that you found your way and lost so much lard!!! You're gonna totally rock your 65th!!!
