How has your target/motivation changed?

β€’26 Replies

When I joined here on 22/10/19, I was over 5st overweight. I had a history of yoyo dieting and wasn't doing any exercise/ fitness. My initial goal was to get under 200lbs (something I'd been trying and failing to do all year!)... and achieved earlier this year), and alao to stop yoyoing forever (my previous attempts to lose weight were heavily reliant upon hardcore unsustainable methods!)

So far I've gone from a UK size 20 to a 16 and discovered a love of IF and realised that I do better by being kind to myself as opposed to simply relying on will power that always ultimately fails.

My health goals for 2020 are:

To reach my target weight/size before my birthday beginning Sept

And to find a fitness plan I can do all year!

Hi Sammiseal, you're doing brilliantly! Well done you.I actually checked the date you started,I thought it was a typo.Sorry.

I'm sure you'll reach your target weight by your birthday. πŸ†xx

Well done - did you use LCHF as well?

I joined 18 months ago at 19 stone 4lb.

I have also used (I)F. (I have just completed a 68-hour fast.)

I got down to 18 Stone for my sister's 75th,

and 16 stone for my 70th.

I have now been stable at 15 stone, 95 kg and 14% bodyfat for five months.

See:

healthunlocked.com/fasting-....

I am comfortable in waist-half-my-height trousers I have had for about 50 years!

That's fantastic S11m! πŸŽ‰πŸ’

My longest fast is 64hrs. I go by when my body needs to eat rather than by a number

I have not fasted more than 68 hours - but I would have gone longer this time if I had not scheduled lunch with my son.

β€’ in reply toS11m

It's amazing isn't it? I never thought I would enjoy not eating/ still have energy to go about day etc. .

You've set yourself a very achievable goal, Sammiseal and here's to a good year ahead :)

Have you ever thought about using the Daily Diary? You're a great supporter on your weigh-in team and around the forum and I'm thinking you might enjoy that daily drop-in. Have a browse and see what you think.

Happy New Year :)

β€’ in reply toBridgeGirl

Aww thank-you Bridge! Really kind words! πŸ’›

I have to be honest tho: I'm not grand at planning my meals in advance. I like the idea of it and will defo look at the forum posts but I don't know if I can do it πŸ˜ƒ

Happy New Year to you too! πŸŽ‰

That’s inspiring progress, Sammiseal πŸ‘ It sounds like you have found a path that suits you.

Thanks Pippi, hope you've had a very merry Christmas!

I'm happy with things food wise. But I want to get it together exercise wise too next year!πŸ˜ƒ

I had a very merry Christmas πŸŽ„ thank you πŸ™.

What have you been doing exercise wise so far?

β€’ in reply toPippiRuns

Nothing really just walking more tbh. Gave c25k a go but had to abandon due to injury. I'm thinking running isn't for me cos that was 3rd time I'd started and failed the programme

Well done Sammiseal!!I am sure you will reach your goals in 2020!!Let's hope that all of us will! This yoyo dieting is exactly what I have done too and it is so so very tiring to put back all the lost weight!!I have done so all my life:-( I am so happy with IF and I am only sorry that I haven't heard or paid attention to it earlier!!It is so liberating not to feel dependent on food anymore.I have not tried these longer periods of fasting that you mentioned ,but I intend to.However I have been following the 16:8 plan for 6 weeks without compromising it at all.

I truly believe that this time the weight won't creep back on!!!

β€’ in reply toCookry

Thanks Cookry! I'm sure you'll be fine this time now that you've discovered the benefits of IF! I'm a very recent convert but I love it its changed my life!

Congratulations on your loss and change in attitude that goes a long way. Hope you manage your goals and have a celebratory birthday.

Ps you joined on my birthday

β€’ in reply toCraftyperson

Thanks! And oh did I? πŸ˜ƒ

I dint celebrate my last birthday (my 50th because I felt too fat/depressed. Might have to have a big 51st party instead! πŸŽ‰

Craftypersonβ€’ in reply to

You should have celebrated your 50 th you'll have to have an extra special 51st. I had a great 50 th birthday till I looked at the pics!!!! That's when I lost my 5 st. I'll be 64 next year so by my 65th will be celebrating and slim!!!

β€’ in reply toCraftyperson

I think it was a combo of things - being overweight on my 40th and promising myself I wouldn't have another fat birthday and here I was still fat a decade later!

The fact that I'd lost over 7st a few years before and regained 5!

Being out of work at the time..

BUT!!!

Woohoo!!! so happy that you found your way and lost so much lard!!! You're gonna totally rock your 65th!!!
