I'm starting back at university mid September and want to make it a new start for me, over the next 4 months I want to get a lot fitter and thinner (and then maintain it after). Any tips for doing this?

I'm in the same boat Jay_cb

I start my Masters in October and looking at it as a new start to getting to a fitter, healthier and happier me.

I'm going to be on a very strict budget at uni, so I'm going to be sticking to basic foods and things that don't cost the earth but are healthy. For example, baked beans on whole meal toast for lunch, or tuna salad. I've also been trying out Mug Shots for lunch, they're low in calories so will help keep you on track but I'd not recommend them everyday as they have little nutritional value. Snack on plenty of fruit and buy frozen veg so non goes to waste.

Try to keep a food dairy with calories of everything that you eat. Make sure you tally it up throughout the day to help keep you on track. That's where I found the most benefit I think. Good luck!

Hi and welcome Jay :)

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.

Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the monday group weigh-in, which I have posted today, but which Zest will be posting in future. The latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Wishing you all the very best :)
