Hello all! Brand new to all this and just wanted to say hello. I've got about 6-7 stone to lose so no small feat (in any sense!) but something seems to have 'clicked' in my head if that makes sense?

Welcome to the forum. You will get lots of support and tips here. I find the best way is to set small achievable goals for yourself. I had a very slow start as the weight did not start to move for a few weeks. However I felt better and all the support and encouragement from the lovely people who use the forum kept me going. Good luck .

I think you will get a welcome from one of the fab 4 at some point but in the meantime have a look at the links on the right hand side and if you haven't already done so you might want to look at the Nhs 12 week programme which is good (& free!). There is also a weekly weigh in on Mondays which gives a weekly goal to aim for

Some of us use the free ap myfitnesspal to log calories which helps too.

Could luck and stay connected via the forum! 🐬

that click makes perfect sense to me WoopyFoopy! I got it too. when I decided I liked myself the way I was, it clicked. I wanted to get healthy and if I lost weight in the battle than so be it. I am struggling to eat better and I do want to lose some weight to take the pressure off my little fat knees. I know I feel better all ready after losing a few pounds and my confidence is much better all ready. I have about 80 pounds to lose (not sure how many stone that is ) but I know if I do it 1 at a time, one day I will have it and so will you!

Good luck! You've come to the right place for support 👍

I had 8 stone to lose when I started. Its definitely hard but so worth it! I am more than 6 stoned lighter now and feel amazing.

It's great to hear from people who have lost a lot of weight - It is reassuring to us newbies that it works. Thanks. x

I'm just starting like yourself and also have around 6/7 stone to lose.

Like the others have said if we keep our aims realistic and take each day as Ithe comes, I'm sure from the support we will receive from everyone on here that we CAN do this.

Good luck and have a great 1st week :-)

I've always said that I have to be in the right "Mind Set" before I can start. That time is now for me also. 10+ stone to lose for me, so I'll be doing quite a few "12 weeks" There are some really inspiring stories and this seems plan seems to work. Good luck for your journey.
