I'm Natalie and I am starting today ☺️ I have four stone to loose but I'm starting with half a stone for this first 12 weeks. I already use the couch to 5k app and I can proudly say I can run - but I've not been able to loose weight. So here's to having a go - in previous years I've tried weight watchers, slimming world and the Cambridge - but I'm tired of paying for quick fixes: I want to change for the long term 😍 I have a birthday holiday to New York in October so that will get me through 🙈 Hopefully!!!

Hi. I joined yesterday. Like you I tried Weight Watchers but I find the new system too hard to stick to. My weakness is cheese so I'm hoping for some support to keep me on the (cheese free) straight and narrow!
Hi NataliePearce and ClaireN1966 welcome to this very friendly forum. You have both come to the right place for motivation and advice. I would recommend you both print out all the nhs 12wk plan pages and have a really good read. It gives you so much information to do from day 1. Check your calorie allowance and log your calories on an app like myfitnesspal. Try not to go over and move as much as you can. Enjoy the process as that way it won't feel like a 'diet' but a change for life. Join in with this forums challenges as they are really motivating. Good luck. Claire x
Hi Nathalie, and also hello to ClaireN1966 - Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum, and I hope you'll both enjoy being part of this community. Have you seen our Pinned posts area yet? See the top right-hand-side of the homepage, and there are several posts pinned, including the Welcome Newbies thread, which moreless has collated, and it's worth a read.
If you'd like to join us for the Monday group weigh-ins, then check out the Events section (below the Pinned posts) for the latest weigh-in thread, and maybe join in on Monday - you'd be very welcome!
Good luck NataliePearce and ClaireN1966. Everyone here is brilliant at giving support and advice. Take notice of what they say and you WILL lose weight and what's more gain friends who have a great sense of community and humour.
Hi Natalie, you sound really motivated. I've been a bit of a serial dieter myself. Done them all, but you're absolutely right in saying that you need to look long term. The 12 week plan will I am almost at the end of week 3 of the 12 week plan and my life has turned around. Gone is the junk food, chocolate and beer. and in with the exercise, healthy eating and water guzzling. Good for you in making a start and with a fab trip to look forward too. You will get loads of support and motivation here. Looking forward to reading about your progress.
thank you everyone for your replies! I am officially starting tomorrow as my partner has decided to join to, which is great because there will be less treats in the house! I've printed off the plan and I am meal planning right now, hopefully when I weigh in tomorrow it will be the last time I weight that much!
