Everyone has their own ideas and routines but personally I have found counting caloies, noting down everything I eat & drink and if I have a bad day I record what my emotions were that day and what had made me feel that way, this helps me to recognise the danger before it does any harm.
Take a look at NHS 12 week plan I think it's a really good way to lose weight and I've had success following it.

Happy to help but just to clarify, what I rcord is how I was feeling or what had happened before I over eat. As a result I realised when something takes me away from my usual daily routine or when something goes wrong my first instinct is to eat, so now I know I'm alert to that prospect and can deal with it better. Hope you find this helpful?
I agree with Jenever i really took time to work out when and why I over ate, did lots of reading about nutrition and have hopefully found a way of eating that suits me 😊 Basically eating less of high calorie foods and moving more 😊
