I also find that if I've had a more sugary meal, that it's like my appetite is 'opened up' and I have to be really careful not to over-indulge. I suspect it is the after-effects of your pizza and cake yesterday.
Enjoy your meal this evening, and hopefully you'll be doing ok for the remainder of the week. Glad you and your son enjoyed his 6th Birthday celebrations.
Wishing you a great weekend when it arrives. Not long now!
Thanks, he had a lovely time and the pair of them (I have a 3 year old daughter too) have been having the best fun ever with a new scalextric
I've planned, made sauce, wholemeal spaghetti and salmon, 150cals. I'm probably going to have a couple of bits of garlic bread too which will double that, but could be worse.... I have a run tonight on the c25k which will help.
Yes, your comment is interesting and I'm thinking sugar craving perhaps from yesterday, although I'm used to craving chocolate more specifically, today I just want to eat, so have been filling up on fruit - but lots of it!
Hope you have a lovely weekend too! We have more birthday celebrations and more cake
Those days are very challenging.....drinking lots of water helps me now. I used to reach for the rubbish. I've found that I have really wanted cheese rather than sweet stuff and managed to step away from a box of chocs at work 2 times today. Try and think about the bigger picture and what you are aiming for! It's so hard some days though. I try and get to bed earlier on days like that!
Thank you, you're right. Do you know what, I'm just about to start getting ready for bed now too I've done my c25k run and ready for a good sleep and hoping tomorrow I'll be less of a human dustbin!
Well done on avoiding the chocs today, they are so tempting and especially a box of them. You did well there
That explains why it takes me a couple of days to get back to normal after falling off the wagon. I just can't be the extra strict I want to be. I do quite well if I get back to my plan after a couple of days. So impressed that you are planning and managing to get right back on it. Especially as I bet there are some left overs at least of birthday cake. Or did you manage to export it to someone else's fridge?
Thanks I have to be strict otherwise it would all go wrong, I now know that if I eat rubbish two days in a row I get really strong cravings. Was just generally hungry yesterday and not the choc cravings that I've always had before, so went over on cals (by about 300) but it was all fruit and I was below the 2000 recommended if not dieting so I'm happy enough. Today, have resisted all junk food and will not go over on cals. Birthday cake all eaten (it was a small one for just a few of us) surprise party with cake on Sunday and I've just started making a trifle. Luckily, I don't fancy the cake, but might sample a little bit of trifle.... mmm.....
Cling wrap could be your friend here! And don't trifles need a bit of waiting round time, to develop the best flavours? Maybe your helping should be eaten when you serve it. I'm trying to give you amunition here, but it may not work because it's one of my temptations, a proper trifle, with the right kind of booziness.
Yes, it's a children's party, so no alcohol, but I'm going to dish it out on Sunday along with the cake and we'll all tuck in at the same time - I've put loads of strawberries in the jelly/sponge bit *drools*.
It'll all be gone by the end of the day for sure and I'll have a little bowl at the same time as everyone else, and looking forward to it
You really have your planning hat on for this one, don't you? Sounds like you've planned your way out of every social temptation the world is sending in your direction. Well done. Hope I do half as well with Mr Flytrap's birthday which is going to hit at least 2 dinners out next weekend. But might well drift a little more as we are staying with Flytrap Junior for part of the week and he always uses our visits to give himself a whole series of little treats. And, of course, being related, our tastes do run together, so his treats tend to be my treats too! Glad you made me think about that in good time. Gives me a chance of thinking my way out of trouble too. Have a lovely party.
