I am posting the afternoon a little early as I am off to Zumba and have to walk as I am in the midst of a fit bit challenge the morning post already has 200 replies if you want to see how everyone is getting on here is the link
But new posts should be on this tread please as the size makes it quite clunky hpe you are all enjoying this wet and windy week ☔️🌨
If you join us for this Monday group weigh-in the office juniors are in charge this week and one of the Fab 5’ers (Suzybenj, Moreless,,LotToLose and myself, Prin) will reply to you.
However, please be patient with us, as we do have other commitments, but we will do our very best to get back to you as soon as we can.
This week I weigh 11st 2lb so a pound down I think from last week,
The weigh in post from two years ago I am saddened to say I am 4lbs heavier than then ( maintainer - who am I trying to kid?) on a happier note the dress still fits nicely and I am still spinning at 6.45, Lowcal however is leading by example and is a good 1/2 stone lighter. Suzy is the other Fab 5’er that was with us then- I think she was busy running the London Marathon
Lowcal (Group leader - lovely Fab 5’er) has had a big birthday (50)and is away on her holidays. 🎂🎈🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎉🎈 🎂from us all
Looking forward to catching up with her when she gets back, and she will be posting the May Bank Holiday weigh-in on 2nd May 2016 as usual. Thanks for doing the stats Lowcal 😇
Here are this week’s stats:
Total people posting on last Monday's thread: 132
Total overall weight lost: 104.81 pounds (47.59 kilos).
Total people who lost weight: 74 (139.65 pounds lost) (63.29 kilos).
Total people who gained weight: 24 (34.84 pounds gained) (15.8 kilos).
Total people who maintained their weight: 15
Total people starting out on their weight loss journey/plan: 18.
Total people who didn't disclose their weight gain/loss: 2.
Note for Newbies:
If you are joining this weigh-in group thread for the first time today, then welcome. Just introduce yourself and share your starting weight (if you feel comfortable to do so) and your initial weight loss goals – setting yourself mini-goals leading to your ultimate weight loss goal is particularly helpful. You could also make a note of your body measurements – sometimes the scales stick at a particular weight, but there can be body measurement changes which are very motivating. It’s not all about the scales afterall – it’s how you feel in yourself.
You can always refer to previous weigh-in threads if you want to see what other people typically post (just click on my profile, Lowcal, and you’ll be able to see a list of all previous posts which are all clearly dated).
Also, if you’ve not already seen it, then take a moment to read the ‘Welcome Newbie’ pack which is a Pinned post (situated on right hand side of homepage) which has been collated by Fab 5’er Moreless.
N.B. The Afternoon/Evening Session will be posted at approx midday – and if it has already been posted, then the link will be here:
Wishing you all a great weigh-in!

I've had another slow week and not been on top form. A lot of family illness going on at the moment (will not bore you with details) But as a result my eating has not been great and I've done less exercise than I has planning.
Still I've managed to loose 0.4 kg and weighed in at 81.7 kg this morning. I'm happy with that considering.
My BMI is now 30.3 (down from 35.6 back in August 2015) and my body fat is 42.2% (down from 51%) and my waist is down to 93 cm (from 113 cm)
I would really like to get my BMI in under 30. I've been really close to this now since before Christmas, but for some reason I don't seam to be able to get there... so frustrating.
Hi everyone, another newbie here Weighed myself this morning and I am 14st 11lbs. My first goal is to lose a stone and be comfortable in a size18 again. Looking forward to losing weight the healthy and permanent way!
It's great that you've chosen to join us and that you've shared your starting weight and goals
You're another newbie that's being very tough on yourself, how about setting your first goal at 1/2st, then your 2nd at getting into the 13's, then your 3rd would be the stone? That way, you're being rewarded for your efforts much more frequently and makes your journey fun and motivating in itself
If you haven't had a chance yet, have a look at the welcome newbies post and the various challenges that are up and running, they can all be found in the pinned posts section, to the top right of your screen.
Thanks! I didn't think my goal was so tough, I don't expect to reach it in a week! Lol! But I agree it may be better to set smaller goals to keep me motivated
Sorry that I missed last week's thread as we were out for the day .... although posted on the general posts a STS.
However, pleased to say this week, scales have shown a 2lb loss! Very pleased with that; now weighing in at 13stone 10lbs (from original starting weight of 15stone 6lbs) and now busy sorting out some smaller clothes from my plastic sacks stored on top of the wardrobe! Also really happy when I managed a 6 mile hike this week as legs and hips are so much more mobile and free of pain.
Aiming for a target weight of 12st 7lbs which is becoming more achievable every day!
If you can't manage to post on a monday, don't worry about it, you can always post a day, or two later
Well done for losing 2lbs this week, that will have made up for your maintain last week The benefits of losing weight seem to be never ending. It beats me why we ever allow ourselves to gain in the first place
It won't be long now until you've lost 2st, which is fantastic and will make your target of 12st 7lb even more achievable!
I am stuck at the same weight again this week. Maybe not surprising as had a birthday and two meals out. At least I know I can maintain which will be helpful when I finally shift the last few lbs.
So this weeks plan, no meals out. Have shopped for healthy meals. Must calorie count and NO CHOCOLATE!! Keep up the extra steps. Seriously looking for a loss next week.
I've been poorly all week so haven't really been following the plan but also have lost my appetite as my sore throat makes it difficult to eat and I can't actually taste anything at the moment. So, I have lost 2 lbs this week which brings me in a tantalizing half pound away from my first stone lost - very happy with that
Hi Everyone, back after several weeks of absence. Weighing in at 10.12. I have decided to pick up my plan at week 3 which is where it all started to go wrong. As they say, it's a marathon not a sprint. Have a good week everyone!
Hi All, just starting out. Starting weigh in 13 stone 8lb. I'm naturally greedy and lazy, so really hoping I can find a healthy attitude and make better choices. Hoping its not too ambitious to hit 13 stone by the beginning of June. Wish me luck!
I'm really glad that you've chosen to join us today and that you've shared your start weight and goals
I'm all for a bit of a challenge, so I think if you want to hit 13st by the beginning of June, then good for you!
Have a look at our newbie thread and the various challenges we have on offer, maybe they can help with that greediness and laziness, although I'm sure that's not true!
An eventful week - lost another 0.8kg in week 3 and 2cm off my waist, but this wasn't really the result of dieting. Took a bad tumble from my bike midweek and after stitches in my chin and lip was restricted in what I could eat by my need to eat very small bites to avoid getting stitches wet... Improving now, stitches out tomorrow, so have to avoid a rebound once less good foods become possible again!
That puts me in mind of when people used to have their teeth wired together in order to lose weight, as all food had to be taken through a straw. A not very pleasant experience! I hope you are recovering well and that not too much damage was done.
No teeth or bones broken. I will be back on my bike when I am fit (and I've found a 7 speed shift lever to replace the one a broke in landing on my bike), after all I hadn't done anything like this in the previous 45 years ... so I will just resolve to concentrate on the road surface a bit harder, so that I notice every pothole, even when the sun is shining and there are no cars around.
Afternoon, I've put on 1pound 8 It's not surprising I suppose, I've had a couple of naughty puddings but did think that with all the running Shetland pony and I have been doing, I'd stay the same. So I must be more aware of what I am eating this week. Shetland and I managed 3.86 miles with 10.59 minute miles so we're doing great. Maybe focussing on training for our fun run, I can't multi task and lose weight too?? Doesn't help that people keep saying how trim and muscley he is getting, and then just look at me I do all that running too - how come I'm not?!
Maxine, for the life of me I don't understand why you're not trim and muscly, because you certainly should be!
Life is seriously unfair! You definitely deserve to be losing, not gaining! If I had a magic wand, I'd wave it for you!
How about setting aside time to prepare calorie counted meals and sticking them in the freezer, that would help with your multitasking. It might be an idea to steer clear of those naughty puds for a while too
Thank you! I've even kept off the wine though I've had a couple of cokes instead, so I must be a good girl and ask for water when in the pub What's the point?! I will steer clear of the naughty puddings this week. Good luck to you too!!
Well you wouldn't want to look like a Shetland pony would you😜😂😂😂. You need to run a marathon to burn a pound of fat 😦 Running I found toned my legs but not my arms had to go to body pump for that.... Stay away from the desert trolley if they told you how many calories were in them we would never go anywhere near
I haven't been good this week ate out twice and had a naughty choc bar for 5 days. Managed a walk yesterday and two days of healthy eating but clearly that's not going to repair the damage. Luckily haven't gained stayed the same at 10st10.
Don't forget that meals out and chocolate bars are allowed on the plan, they just have to be factored into your calorie allowance. Don't think that if you don't deny yourself completely, that you're straying
You can't have done any harm, because you've managed to maintain
Good luck with your targets, you'll feel much happier in yourself if you can meet them
Hi moreless, always lovely reading ur replies honestly. Yeah I have been within calorie limit all week even with the 2 takeouts and choc. Even done the dvd 3 times and one 45 minute walk. As u sed at least I maintained.
Thank you for taking care of this thread while Lowcal is away!
I'm down 0.1kg today which is a win for me because considering the week I've had, I was hoping to maintain but was worried about gaining. Still a week ahead of schedule so all good here 😊
I'm so glad that you decided to join us today and that you've shared your history and goals with us. Am I right in thinking that your starting weight is 80.1kgs?
Lots of people have had big successes with the 12 week plan, so here's hoping that you'll be the same
I know you've read our newbie thread, have you had a look at the various challenges there are?
Afternoon, didn't weigh in last week as I was super busy, and healthy lifestyle went completely out the window. but I am 11st 4.4lb which IIRC is the same as I was 2 weeks ago on my last weigh-in. I hope to really hammer it this week and get down to 11st 2lb by next Monday as I think I'm getting close to my goal
Hi Prin. Many thanks for standing in for Lowcal while she is enjoying her holiday. If I am reading right you have only put on 4lbs over 2 year while maintaining! I would say thats not so bad and I am sure you will lose it again in no time. Glad the dress still fits I am pleased to report that I have lost a pound this week so I'm down to 10 stone 11.5. I really would like to get back to 10.5 for a family party on 28th May so I can fit into a dress but I think as I only seem to be losing a pound a week that I am not being realistic. Unless I can pull it out of the bag and really up the exercise regime. I have been so good and sticking to my calories every day I really hoped to lose a little more. Keep plodding on. Good luck to everyone else weighing in today and I hope the scales have given you some good numbers
By my calculations, it's 4.5 weeks til your family party, which means you'll probably have lost 4.5lbs, which would make you only 2lbs over your goal. Surely that's a difference that's neither here, nor there??!! Some good underwear and that dress will be good to go!
Thanks moreless. The only trouble is I think I am already trying to squeeze myself into it as I was only about 10 stone when I last wore it. But you are right 2lb is probably neither here nor there. Fingers crossed if I up the exercise I may manage a bit more each week.
It's great to have goals, but you know what if it doesn't fit the week before go out and buy yourself something new that you feel fabulous in confidence makes all the difference it doesn't need to be expensive although it should look it! , if I had the nouse to post pictures in threads I would show you the £8 dress tesco the 2.99 shoes mark so half their reduced price and facinator primark £5
Good afternoon everyone. Well done to all who posted in the morning thread and this afternoon thread, it is great to read of the progress each of you make on your weight loss journeys.
I lost another 2lbs this week, bringing my weight to 13st6lbs - or as I call it, the lower 13s!
I'm so jealous!! You're a weight loss machine! You lose at least 2lbs every week! Well done LTL, you so deserve it, you work really hard at it all the time You must be so close to the 6st mark now! WTG you!
Thanks Moreless, just another 5lbs before I can say I lost 6st. I was just remembering when I was 19stone, the lower 13s seemed like a million miles away.
I am sure you will get back into the groove. We've both been at this game since September and it is almost habit now. Maybe try changing something around a bit? Try some new tasty (healthy) recipes, vary your exercise routine and look at some nice clothes in the shops.
I'm definitely going to look for some new recipes, although I am quite inventive and have become a dab hand at conjuring up a meal out of whatever's in the fridge
I was really getting into different exercises, but the weather did another about turn and my hernia's stopping me from doing lots of things. I shall have to research things that don't strain my belly
I refuse to buy any new clothes until I've got rid of all the big stuff and have more room in my wardrobe. Then I'll go nuts!
Fabulous and much appreciated fab fiver - See this crown👑? It's yours for the taking at 6 stone loss. isn't 6 stone a small child🙍🏼? Imagine all the time of carrying that around it must of been exhausting
You're the most amazing though, cos you've lost all your excess and have kept it off for aaaaaaages!
I overindulged at the weekend definitely as it was a rare Saturday off and now I'm definitely regretting it. It's only week 2 for me so I was hoping for just a bit of a loss to help motivate me but unfortunately I've gained 2lbs putting me at 12 stone 6lbs. I forgot to put my waist measurements up last week but that was 44 inches, and despite my gain my waist now measures 42 inches. I don't know whether it's my scales that are naff or if it's my measuring. Despite the setback I'm still struggling on with it all, but I must say that motivation is at an all time low. Good luck to everyone else this week!
One meal shouldn't make all that much difference, so it is probably just water weight or something. If you follow the plan through the coming week, I am sure it will come off again and you will get a good loss next week.
Went from 10st 4.8lbs last week to 10st 3lbs this, so a loss of 1.8lbs.
Was playing a game with my 4yr old grandson during the week and I lost. He said I was a loser and was quite bewildered when I agreed and said how pleased and proud I am to be a loser 😃😃 it was mean of me because I knew he wouldn't understand, on the other hand he didn't call me a loser again...
The game? It was to see who could put their shoes and coat on first as we needed to get to nursery. Sneaky Nanna 😃
What should have been a record breaking week for me was derailed by the Wife's birthday - a trip to see ELO at the O2 (her lifetime dream) plus a (truly wonderful) lunch - including a decidedly decadent date pudding! Got right back on the horse the next day though and have completed three solid gym trips over the past seven days.
Greetings, I haven't been on here since last week and the reason is, i have been living my life to the full. I have a 3lb loss this week, a total of 9lb in three weeks. Im doing great and still in the zone.
Ouch. A one pound gain for me but feel okay and been to the gym and done over 150 minutes of workout at a high intensity, so taking rough with smooth. Onward and downward.
Sounds like you are doing everything right, so as Moreless says, this does sound like water gain for the muscles. Hopefully, next week, your hard work will show on the scales.
I have put on 2.5lb this but am not at all surprised. I have been quite unwell with a poor blood picture which has left me with no energy , restless legs, cramp and sleeplessness. Comfort eating and less walking. Oh well will get better first and then try again.
Hi Everyone I have had a very good week this week. I have lost 3.5lbs which means that I have reversed my gain last week of 2.75lbs and lost another 0.75lbs to boot. Very happy with that. So last week I weighed 14st 6.5lbs and this week I weigh 14st 3lbs. Well done to everyone!
hello fellow wobble warriors! this week I am weighting in at 9st 7.9lbs / 134lbs / 60.8Kgs. so lost 2lbs roughly since last monday.
Finally bought a new set of scales. I am running with my dog and walking with him, interval training i like to call it i have been eating 'naughtily' more than usual last 4 days due to female monthly cycle. keeping sight of the long term goal, but these weekly weigh ins are great. Aiming for one pound a week. It's not easy as you all know. taking each day at a time, making sure i get out near nature for a run with my best wee friend daily, no matter what. XOX
The scales are very annoying when they don't recognise the effort you have put in I expect there will be rebalance when the hormones are at bay don't lose heart just keep going:-).
Things went pear shaped on wed, not sure why? A couple of carb heavy meals, it seemed to stay, anyway it makes me feel crap, and not over eating, every cloud and all that!
I hope so, who knows these pesky menopause hormones certainly give me grief, after 8 years ongoing, the maca root helps a fair bit tho, and I think bring nearly 54, things are not as easy , weight loss wise!
I remind myself things are so much better than they were at 2st heavier a while ago
I wish they would just hurry up, after 2 years starting out of flushes, every 15 mins during the day, and on the hour st night, it was hell, napping every day for at least an HR, and worse 7am, to 7 pm, things are much better, just managing the journey. I am now totally fed up with it all, feeling slightly flushed and out of sorts for a fair chunk of time
Hi folks, been a bumpy couple of weeks, the usual rollercoaster of aches and pains, extra drugs and swollen leg - zzzzzz! Had a bit of a drop in mood too which hasn't helped. Last Monday my leg was huge and I knew the weigh in would be bad and couldn't face it. Sorry I was AWOL. I was plus 4 1/2 pounds last Monday and really REALLY fed up about it because it wasn't my eating which had caused it. Hubby and son said, where the heck have you put THAT on, your tummy/waist etc look just the same, you don't look any bigger. In reply to which, I rolled up the bottom half of my trouser leg and they both sighed a knowing "ahhhh". Anyway, I rested plenty and monitored this week as I went. The leg slowly reduced, it was down 2 pounds by Wednesday, another pound by Thursday, and Saturday I was down another pound. I then decided to wait until the Monday weigh in and, low and behold, a positive result - about bloomin time given that my eating has been correct! So I reckon I've lost the 4 1/2 pound in fluid this week plus 1/2 pound of actual normal weight, though there's no concrete way of telling, apart from looking at the size of the leg of course. Anyway, that's the back story, now I'll start a new paragraph to make the stat bit easier...
My overall result this Monday is that I am minus half a pound since Monday 11th April. Sometimes this journey feels like one step forward and two steps back, but I keep plodding on and looking at the end goal. Even half a pound every two weeks would still add up to a bigger loss by the end of the year eh? Feeling a bit tired and deflated but I'm not gonna let that stop me, onwards and downwards!
aaah WW - you sound to me like you are living in very trying times. But you got the better of it - well done - but hope you are ok.
Yup the one step fwd.three back is where i am at - but slowly but surly it is making a difference.
I was highly amused by emielous's post earlier( just a few down ) - referring to us as wobble warriors I am with her on the journey - but nowhere near her weight.
Good Luck WW - hope all continues in the right directions- onward and downward
Oh WW, that dratted leg! I'm so sorry you've had it so tough this past couple of weeks. I've been waiting anxiously for you to post, because I guessed something was amiss, Fingers crossed that you can get back to more heartening weight loss now.
Thank you all for your support, it really means a lot to me. I tend to kind of hide away if I've hit a bit of a low spot so please don't take offence because I'm not around much. It's been weeks since I called my parents too, I just avoid people when I'm not feeling too grand. Must really get onto that this week, the longer I leave it the harder it seems to get! Thanks again folks, you are all stars xx
I'm a newbie. I weigh in at 10 st 7 lb. I'm aiming for one stone, and then if that goes well for another four to seven pounds. Ideal weight is 9 st but I'll be a bit more content once I reach below 9 st 6.
First day today and it's been good. Stuck to exercise and food plan. Just settling in with a cup of fennel tea! Wine is an absent friend,
Good Evening. Haven't been on for a few days. Been a difficult week, Wednesday I went to my Aunt's funeral, which was a sad emotional day. Then I couldn't get on the site as I had been logged out & couldn't remember my password. As a result things have been a bit stressful & my eating & exercise plans have gone out of the window. I weighed myself this morning & I have gained a pound, which is a relief as I thought it would be more. This coming week I must get back on track & will pledge to hopefully lose 2 pounds. Need to pull finger out now as holiday is just under 5 weeks away. Onwards & downwards
suzie54 - sounds to me like you have had a rough week - and all for a pound gain. Soothe your sad feelings - and take time to recover. These family events do take there toll - allow recovery time.
Pause in the proceedings and all that - if you are ready to jump back on the weight loss wagon go for it- otherwise rest easy my friend
Bad weeks and down days happen. True strength comes from getting up and moving on towards your goals. Don't feel guilty about it either. Accept that you had that wee and let it go, should allow you to get on with this week free of the burden from last week. Good luck!
Tut tut JB, is that a case of when the cat's away........
Not to worry, it's only a pound and you'll soon get shot of that If you work hard, you'll lose it without your daughter even finding out - my lips are sealed!
Can't seem to get rid of these horrid pounds. Even more annoying is my old clothes fit me and everyone tells me I look so good. If only they would see the scales plus my big huge tummy. I was desperate to get to 11 already. Plus my eating healthy has gone completely out of the window. My walking and any exercise has also disappeared. Can't even say this week I will behave myself. The trouble is all my old clothes fit me so I am not any more motivated. Just had my dress taken
Sorry BD, how frustrating for you - you are so close to crashing through the 11st barrier and it has all gone to pot!
It is great that your lovely old clothes fit again and that should motivate you all the more to keeping those lbs off and taking a few more "safety pounds" with them.
I hope you can get a hold of it this week and get the food and exercise back on track.
I don't know, but I don't like it! I'm determined to get back into it tomorrow. I'm going shopping and then I'm going to cook up a storm. I'm going to try some different recipes and see if that helps
I'm going to dust of my zumba dvd and try that too, even though I've got 2 left feet!
I found AliceFraser on an old thread, so have brought her back to the fold
Argh! Complete failure this week, was away for friends and my self control & calorie counting slipped. My goodness the kilos have come back on quickly.
Gone up from 68.9 to 71.8 - a gain of 1.9 kilo, thats 2.2lbs ...
Next week I'll be checking in from West Africa, I am off there for four weeks for work. I do wonder how it will work out there - determined to use the few days at home to eat clean before hitting the road again.
Alice, don't worry about this week's blip, often these fast to come on ones after a celebration or something are just as quick to get off if you attend to them immediately.
Stayed the same again this week. Family stresses lead to not great food choices at the weekend. Hoping to have a better week. Pleased that I resisted the temptation to eat away today's stresses at work or grab that glass of wine!
Well you have done brilliantly to not have gained this week, Tinkle, family stress is very difficult and I understand it having an impact on your food choices.
It sounds like you got a handle on it today at work and this evening, so I hope you have a great week ahead and that the family stresses are resolved asap.
Good evening. Apologies for posting late. I think the miserable day has put me off my stride. I am happy to post a 1lb loss. 11st 12 last week, 11st 11lbs this week. Very pleased with that.
I have not read any posts yet but will do so laters I don't know what people are up to yet. I am hoping for some increased exercise this week but with the weather being what it is, that may not happen! Will have to see what I can get up to indoors.
Well done on your weight loss Prin. Good luck for the week ahead everyone.
Well done for losing a pound this week, that's terrific
I agree that the atrocious weather has certainly put the kibosh on outdoor activity! I can't believe we had snow today! Not exactly spring-like at all!
I know this is late but if I don't leave it till now I would just spend the whole afternoon trawling through everybody's posts and not get anything done with the rest of the day. I lost a whole 3lbs this week. I have never lost 3lbs in one go in my life. It might be just a blip as last week I put up the one I lost the week before (blink to stop your eyes glazing over) but it's still very nice. I also cycled 74kms yesterday and I am not completely and utterly wrecked which is progress although I am still the slowest one in the group which is a bit mortifying. I am at this cycling lark six months and I am still the slowest. On the plus side I did achieve a personal best yesterday so at least I am faster than myself. I will not be weighing in for the next two mondays as I am off on my holliers.
Good to see you always nice to have a skipper on board😜😂 well done on your loss - and your cycle feat, it could only have helped the weightloss well done and have a great week
Only 200 grams lost this week but I did get around to finally joining the gym. I had my first session today so hopefully the weight will stay the same if not reduce over the next few weeks. I am keeping to my calorie limit so that is a positive too
Well done Emma any loss to be celebrated have a look at 200g chocolate bat a substantial weight! Enjoy the gym, I love classes have a look and see, some of them give you the abs of a 20 year old, I find it much easier to get motivated with an instructor shouting 😅
I've put on 0.5lb this week, but am not really surprised as I've been on leave and eating junk with my husband at lunch time. I've been busy decorating so the exercise has been non-existent other than climbing up and down ladders for 5 days. Hopefully a better result next week?
Holidays are difficult when you lose that routine and those rogue husbands who all think tea has to come with a biscuit-😡 Re group and let's go for it!
Hi all, had a bit of a rubbish week especially with it being that time of the month. I've been craving chocolate and not exercising as much as I normally do, I gave myself a few days break to indulge a little and then felt really guilty. So after doing well the past few weeks I only managed to lose a pound this week 😞 I am determined to lose 3lbs next week to keep on track.. Fingers crossed!
Week 0: 12 stone
Week 1: 11st 10lbs (4lb loss)
Week 2: 11st 8lbs (2lb loss)
Week 3: 11st 6lbs (2lb loss)
Week 4: 11st 4lbs (2lbs loss)
Week 5: 11st 3lbs (1lb loss this week)
Week 6: Aim to be 11st
Short term goal: to get in to the 10's by May
Long term ideal goal: to be around 8st 4lbs by September
Morning sugur plum- seems to me you are doing great- all that going on and a solid pound gone. Your progress is steady and very impressive- I should be following your plan
Good luck for the 3 pounds lost- the 10s are winking at you- 'come on over here' they are saying
Morning - what a great update from the past. I think you are still a maintainer- and a great example on the exercise front as well. Trying very hard to make more time for this. and you are right two years ago I was running the London marathon- I was in happy cheering mode on Sunday
After a fairly disastrous week - I am pleased (euphemism for relieved) to have lost half a pound- yay
I will remain in full focus mode for two days- and then I am off to Spain......
Thanks ML - you have restored my faith in getting a response. I thought I had been missed and was planning a 'sniff sniff' amusing post ' to you all - saying i had been missed -Cant do that now....
Anyway - yes pretty good all things considered. As you know I am going for the Spanish maintainer plan As for the bikini - those days are way behind me....
I'm sorry you had to wait so long for the response, tuesday's my day for the 20,000 Leagues challenge and now MR's challenge, but I got to you eventually Sorry to have foiled your "sniff" "sniff" plan though!
Ach awa! Get that itsy bitsy number out and flaunt it proudly!
Hi I did weigh myself yesterday - I was 71.6 and I want to get to 66kg. I have hurt my knee so part of the weight gain is because I'm so limited in exercise - I'm on crutches too. I'm on holiday next week but will be back on the 9th and hoping I can lose even a teeny tiny bit over the next couple of weeks.
Hi all... Sorry to be late. Scales had stuck at 10 st 1 3/4 yesterday so I decided to give it another 24hrs. Who was I trying to kid?! Scales still 10 st 1 3/4. That's a maintain from last week. Disappointed as I had lost during the week. Really want to get into the 9's.
On the positive side... Feeling really healthy and did my 2nd park run knocking 1.5mins off my time.
Hope everyone has a good week. Thank you for your support 💪😃xxx
Grrr - those darned scales when they don't want to cooperate....and so close to the 9s. I do think the stone barriers are such a psychological hurdle to break through - i am pondering this myself and 'what to do'
The very successful weigh losers - seem to do a combination of daily pledge style strategies - i.e. the one day at a time approach. And i have noticed on this thread that those posters who record there weight loss week to week - seem to keep steady and consistent progress. (See Sugur plum about 4 posts down as an example).
Great news - on the 'healthy' you - and the park runs - for some reason - I can't seem to pluck up the courage to do one...
So good luck on getting to those 9s - i am pom pom waving for you
I've been pondering today too. I've been weighing myself day & night and I've decided it's not healthy for me. know it works well for some, but it dictates my mood for the whole day... Becoming obsessed! I've decided to concentrate on how I feel... Feeling really good right now so I'm going to focus on that and ignore those darned scales!
As for ParkRun... Go for it! I can't describe what a buzz it is to finish your run! I set off and after first 5 mins thought what on earth made me think I could do this! But I kept going, and it was such a good feeling at the end. That's got to be a better obsession than the scales!
I'm new to the forum and would like to join in please.
Starting weight is 13st 4.5lbs 😔 my first goal will be to get under the 13st mark and I'll try for that by the end of May just to give me a chance to find my feet with a big lifestyle change that's needed!
Afternoon TTB - everyone is welcome. Check out the newbies pinned post - lots of useful advice and tips to succeed.
You have 'fessed up your starting weight and have some good goals in mind. Breaking it all up into manageable targets is the way to go. Do record your starting point. If you haven't discovered my fitness pal - register ( it is free) and load in your weight, vital statistics and bmi . You can then update weekly and see your progress-) You can also track calories if you want too (some days I do some days i don't )
Good luck with your first mini gaol and we look forward to seeing you next Monday
Hi Aussiegirl - nobody is ever to late to join:-). A warm Welcome from us
Check out the welcome newbies post - all sorts of tips and advice.
Do you track your weight etc?? it is a good idea to do your weight ,measurements, and Bmi- record them in something like My fitness pal- you can then update weekly and can see your progress over time
Check out the NHS site - it is all very sensible and does work
I found Vickydale on last week's thread and have copied and pasted her
Hi everyone. I just joined on monday weighing 14st 9lbs i need to lose an overall 6 stone but my first goal is a 13st 9. Reading all the posts has shown me i am not the only one. Thanks vicky x
I'm glad we've got you in the right place now. Well done for sharing your starting weight with us, that can be a bit nerve wracking
Here's a thought for your goals, so that you reach them sooner, which is very motivating 1st = 1/2 stone, 2nd = into the 13's, 3rd = 13st 9lbs Three opportunities for a non-edible reward, instead of one
Have a look at our newbie thread and various challenges, they can be found in the pinned posts section at the top right of your screen
Hi everyone, I would like to join your weekly weigh in please. My start weigh is 29 stone 1lb shamefully I have a massive amount to lose, but I'm getting married in 3 months so I'm aiming for as much as possible by then. Thank you. Liane
I'm delighted that you've joined us and well done for sharing your starting weight with us, I know how hard that can be
I started out needing to lose 9st and have lost 5 so far, so don't feel ashamed, feel proud that you're here and taking control of the situation
Congratulations for your forthcoming marriage, I'm sure we can help you lose a few pounds before then and even more after then
I'm hoping that you've read the newbie thread and had a look at the NHS 12 week plan, which has proved very successful for a lot of people and is really easy to follow.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to shout out and I look forward to seeing you out and about on the forum
Sorry I'm so late, been having probs getting the site to load properly since last week! I weighed 17st7lbs on Mon. I think that is a 1 lb loss from last week which I'm pleased about I am exercising as much as possible every day now to try and improve my weigh in results before I begin invigilating in mid may - can't stride with purpose in the exam room
Good going Kate, funny you should say that I am on fitbit challenge, where we try and do the most steps, and I was invigilating this morning, I told them I was doing the invigilator shuffle👓😂 exersise is great but remember the key are those pesky calories, you have to run a marathon to burn a pound of fat 😳 So you will do great in May, I usually have 1/2 tube of polos whilst keeping an eye on them
I'm delighted that you've chosen to join us and that you've bravely shared your starting weight. Don't worry, I've lost 5st and still haven't got down to your weight, so as far as I'm concerned, you're a skinny minny
I hope you've had a chance to read through the newbie thread by now and are feeling a bit more "at home"
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to shout, there's usually someone about to help you out.
Had a great week and really getting in the flow of this weight loss business now! my friends wedding is 8 weeks away so I think that has been helping to spur me on!
I'm weighing in at 12st 4lbs this week which means I am down 4lbs! I'm not doing anything crazy really. Just a nice bowl of porridge with some honey for breakfast, a large ham salad for lunch with fruit and then some form of meat and veg for tea or a nice curry with rice. I've been trying my best and its finally paying off!
Feeling really good knowing that I will be down in the 11's in the next week or 2! I hope everyone has a great week!
Woohoo Sophie, WTG you! A 4lb loss is staggeringly good, you certainly have been working hard! If you carry on like this, you could be in the 10's in time for your friend's wedding!
Don't worry about the stats, Lowcal isn't back from her holiday yet and I'm sure she's going to want her weight recorded in them too (let's keep our fingers crossed for her )
Here's hoping for the 11's, sooner, rather than later
I have lost count of the times I have dieted and put on weight again. For the last year I have started a diet every other day. I know how to do it, I just don't! I work away quite a bit and find that a challenge but it's no excuse really. I have done it before.
I am doing a Spencer Tunnick mass group nude photo in July! What greater incentive do I have than that!
I weighed in at 13 stone 6 1/2 this morning. Bigger than I have ever been! I am going to join your support group of that's ok and try and do it. How do I join the Monday weigh in?
Hi I suggest following Zest click on the link on her name, she will do the post before 7am, give last weeks group results, as it's quite a busy post its split am and pm so use the morning if it's before 12 otherwise use the afternoon post. My advice is to stop dieting and find a healthy eating plan you can stick to long term, look at the 12 week plan for a start, the link is on the welcome newbies post done by moreless have a good weekend - will look out for you on Monday message one of us if you can't find the thread
Good evening, hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather. I stuck this week, but I know I overdid the fresh fruit and Greek style yoghurt. Will rein myself in this next 7 days!
