My daughter is getting married soon and I went out with two friends to look at

outfits.I was not happy with my appearance at all and feel to lose some weight

would give me confidence.I felt the criterion was ,does it zip up ? That  is no way to choose  what to wear for a very important  day..I am size 16 but feel enormous !

You would probably feel thinner if you went out with me!  I am just getting back into size 16's after a few years in 18's and 20's!  However, you know what is your healthy weight and what you look best at, so good luck with the healthy eating and exercise!

We all have those I'm not happy moments, no matter what size we are, choose a flattering style, how long till the wedding?

A few weeks and a few pounds would make some differences?

You don't say how long you've got to the great day.  Sounds like you were in the wrong shops.  I bet most Mums of the Bride are a size 16 or more, from looking at wedding photos.  If you only have a month or two to the day, and want to do something drastic, maybe a carb limiting diet would work for you.  It does take some organising though.  Have a look at the Doctor Michael Moseley Blood Sugar Diet.  (That's him off the telly and 'Trust me I'm a doctor".)  Mr Flytrap has had really good and fast results with that which has been great for his diabetes.  They only recommend that you do it for 8 weeks, but it might suit this occasion if you feel it is an emergency.   I have to say, we never feel hungry on this diet.  But it is hard giving up everything with added sugar and flour in it.  No bread!  This is the link

Thanks for your suggestions. The wedding is in November.I know

that is a long time, but last year my son got married and I kept putting off taking any action until it was too late.My husband retired recently for health reasons and we seem to be eating more .For instance I would just have a sandwich for lunch and now we have a proper meal.He takes a lot of exercise but I was never very athletic and am unlikely to change now . I have a dog which I walk but that is it.What I am saying is I do not know where to start.Any tips welcome.
