6lb on!!! So close to giving up.

After losing 10lb in 3 weeks and doing a whole week of nights. I have had my week off work and went on the scales this morning and have put 6lb on.. I have been using my fitness pal and Admit it has been a struggle with putting everything that I eat and drink down. I just can't understand a 6lb gain. I am so close to giving up and as normal think that I am suppose to be fat forever.

Really don't know what to do. ..

Keep at it kimmie32.

Have you been having flavoured waters? I found that an Elderflower sparkling water was 120 cals per 100 ml when I thought it was virtually calorie free.

Give it longer and see what happens in this next week. Be really strict with yourself and make sure you log every little thing. You say it has been a struggle putting everything that you eat and drink down, so it is possible that you have had more than you realise.

Hopefully, it should even itself out. You haven't mentioned any exercise? Are you managing to fit anything in - even just a 20 minute walk every day should also help.

Good luck for the coming week.

Thanks for that. No I don't do any specific exercise I was thinking about doing some exercise on the wii and go for a walk later. I drink alot of diet lemonade and Pepsi max. I will write everything down and honest this week. Just seemed to be alot and wondered if being on nights made a difference.

Those drinks shouldn't make any difference then. I haven't ever worked nights, so don't know if that makes a difference - I am sure someone else on here can answer.

Remember that you are lighter than when you started, so that is still good - and hopefully, feeling healthier for it all.

These drinks are fatal they muck up your metabolic rate, and crave more sugar.

Ahh. I didnt eat carbs on nights really. Now back to bread and pasta. . Not sure what to do now..

Check out blood type diet, balance your blood sugars, eat the right carbs, it may be different to what you expect?!

Don't give up - some weeks the scales aren't kind but keep doing what you're doing and perhaps finding exercise you enjoy and you'll soon see results :-)

Hi - just as an experiment ditch the "diet lemonade and Pepsi max" On paper they don't seem bad but they made a massive difference when I stopped drinking soft drinks.

Any walking you can do will help. At least "suspend disbelief" that you cannot change. If you want to change enough slowly the pieces of the puzzle fit together.

There you go - all was not lost after all!

As a matter of interest - what has the "lemonade and pepsi" count been like.

The little bits add up, nibbles are my down fall, treat it like a money budget, always try to be in credit too. I find stock veg drink it helps to feel full in the evenings.

I have worked night too, evening meal, snack/ lunch about 2am, breakfast 6 to 7 am , depending on your work pattern, bed, snack at say 1 to 2pm, then dinner, add your 8 glasses of water, drink more at night too, to stop getting dehydrated and confused, helped me. Then eat dinner before doing another night.
