Hiya 😊

Happy to join you ......I would like to lose 1 - 1.5 stones in 3 months so have decided to go for it ....printed all 12 weeks and plan to start on Monday .....although I will cut down a little anyway over the weekend.  I was very active but had a major operation to remove a cancerous tumour from my lungs just over 4 months ago so although still fairly active I now need to push myself to do a little more exercise as well as cut down on the "naughty" foods I enjoy!

Hi Sarah, I hope you are feeling much better now after the op and the rest of your treatment is progressing well.

Your weight loss goal sounds very doable and you will do well, I am sure.

Here is a welcome post that one of our members put together that has lots of very useful information, including tips for beginners as well as ways to make the most of this forum.

I wish you all the best Sarah, anything at all you do in your efforts is a small positive, the more you are able to do -all to the good, but you will still be improving as long as you participate in the plan as much as you are able. Your efforts might be really consistent , in my case I know there will be times that I have to prioritise other things and that's when I tend to come unstuck. I know myself. The difference I hope this time is that my mainstay will hope to be, NOT turning to the biscuits and snacks so much at these times. For example I rush over to my Mum's sometimes when I am not working to do a little H/W there, and when I stop for tea she always has cakes and chocolatey things in her cupboard as well even though she is  not heavy on them herself but gets lots of visitors. If I am tired or flagging I will nibble. That puts  me in the notion for bad snacking again and I then start to skip meals as I have spoiled my appetite, then hungry later, more silly snacks. Then I am annoyed  with myself. I now try and take something with me or just make toast and banana or yogurt for myself.

Hi Drwhoasst,

welcome to the forum and good luck with your pledge. Here is a great post for Newbies, written by our very lovely Moreless, which gives you lots of hints and tips on how to succeed and how to get the most out of this forum (which is great fun, BTW).
