Day 1 went reasonably well, except that the boys are away so I had planned a nice dessert for after tea with dh - naturally it came to nearly 500kcals per portion! And with a couple of bites of easter egg, despite scrimping the rest of the day I ended up at 1725kcal. I console myself that this is probably less than I would have eaten if not dieting and today looks set to come in at under 1300kcal to compensate a bit.
Good to have a forum to write rubbish on when the alternative might be hanging around the biscuit barrel!

It's day 2 here too and I think this forum is a god-send! All the advice and support is great.
Do you have any hobbies that distract you from eating? I'm learning to knit and that keeps me occupied in quiet times.
I like to cross-stitch, crochet or embroider, but most of the time I am too busy to do these at the moment (this week is unusual for me). If I could get into a project like that then I would be able to just pick it up for 10 minutes - I agree they are quite good ways to avoid eating! Can't be eating crisps whilst handling fabric!
Please do join in some of the Challenges if any interest you - they are detailed in the Pinned posts section (top right-hand-side of the homepage) and details of our Monday group weigh-in are in the Events section, just below the Pinned Posts.
Nice to know I'm not the only one using this forum as a shield against unplanned eating. I am doing it too. Another strategy is: Mr Flytrap and I are avoiding our usual copious helpings of bread and spuds this week. So all the frozen bread has been banished to the bottom of the chest freezer along with the pudding bag. (Yes I know a pudding bag is a shocking concept but it mostly contains Young Flytrap's ice creams which he has learned to make the options I don't like. Plus a few sugarfree coulis, water ices etc for me). It takes me a long time to empty the freezer to find the bottom layer. And with my memory, I've usually forgotten what I went in for by the time I get there. So laziness and ageing are saving my plans every hour of every day.
