Strange .........

Easter came.  Pizza, garlic bread and chocolate consumed, for two days ........

On the third day something strange happened.........  I didn't feel well.  Very tired, didn't want food, felt 'off' and unwell.  I'm convinced that after 40 odd days of eating healthily, my body kicked back at the amount of unhealthy food I ate, poisoned is too strong a word but along those lines if you know what I mean...... I found myself craving apples and water.... my water consumption dropped along with my relapse .... Conclusion ?  Body knows best ! Even thou I used to day dream sometimes of pizza etc.  my body wasn't pleased with the reality..... Today normal eating will resume, thankfully...... Stodgy and sweet food left my body feeling sluggish and pretty off....... Anybody else had anything similar ???

Hi Trier, yep I ate foods over the weekend that I hadn't eaten since the beginning of my changed diet! So  my IBS flared up! Groan...........!

So obviously my body knows best and I'm back to eating sensibly! A while back I would have ignored the signs and carried on! But not this time! Hmmm........ maybe I'm finally growing up! Let me think about it? Nah! Still crazy! 😂

😂😂😂

I've had a bad week, what with celebrating my birthday (after my blood was taken for my diabetic tests) and being away all over Easter in a hotel with meals out with different groups of friends.  Halfway through I spent a whole night sitting in the bathroom reading so's not to disturbe my husband and wondering if I was starting to have a heart attack - fortunately, it seems not, but I was so very uncomfortable and in quite a bit of pain from eating all the wrong stuff!

Hi Trierisme,

I very rarely have any sugary items these days, and thankfully I stayed away from chocolate (except for my usual single piece per day) over Easter.  But I did have a bottle of very sweet cider on a couple of occasions, and I noticed that both times I felt extremely sleepy and lethargic, so I'm going to avoid that now, as I'd rather enjoy the evenings without nearly falling asleep!

So yes, I do relate to what you said, and I'm hoping to cut out my sweet ciders altogether.

I like your post, it's thought provoking, and definitely shows the powerful effect on our body of the stodgy sweet stuff.   Best avoided - at least that's what I feel best doing!

Hope you have a great week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

Hi Trier. You are so right. When i manage to be good I have more energy, feel in control and a positive human being, then it happens, I hit the chocolate or fish and chips etc and almost immediately feel lethargic and tired, but what is more worrying then eat more and more as my mood has taken a nose dive and I feel really worthless and depressed and so eat more for comfort. So like you say the body not the head knows best and perhaps we need to remember that when going for those biscuits. As a person who really struggles with binge eating your words really struck a cord. THANKYOU

Awww thank you willdoit 😘  Reading your post and knowing there's others over the airwaves feeling the same really helps me feel I'm not on my own , I particularly liked the phrase of how you/we feel like a 'positive human being' and in control when we're getting it right....... so very true.....

Love Trier xxxxx
