Loosing weight
Successful weight management means finding a way of eating that you can follow long term. It's important to create good habits. Do some research, ( there is lots of help on the nhs choices website) find a plan you like, increase your exercise as you lose weight, and you will soon be fit and healthy again. 😊
Are you a newbie?
If you are
Can I be flippant, yes I can, forget the size 8 unless you are only about 18 years old Mature women (over 21) are a different shape, as you probably know. Aim to get healthy, happy and set achievable short term goals to do that. Weigh in and be honest, it's worth it, you are worth it lol
Good luck, lots of diet's to choose from/change to and lots of people on here to help and advise once you, have picked your diet brand
Hi Monirose19,
Welcome to the forum. I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community, it's a friendly and supportive place. Most of us are using the NHS 12 week plan as a structure, as this is the Weight Loss NHS community and we make use of the NHS Choices resources, and a link to the 12 week downloadable plan is here:
nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss...
There is a BMI calculator there which you can input your height, weight, and current activity levels and it is a helpful starting point. It can give you a recommended range of calories to eat each day, and there is also lots of information on healthy eating to lose weight in that plan. I would recommend having a look to see if it's something you might like to try.
Also, we have a Welcome Newbie post, which Moreless has put together:

There are lots of Challenges going on in the forum currently, and also a Monday group weigh-in session, so please do join us if that's something you would like to join in with.
Wishing you a great week.

I really recommend the nhs 12 week plan and also learning to run with couchto5k. I started at the same weight as you and got there, slowly but surely. I'm now size 8-10 on top, and size 12 on the bottom half, and under 10 stone, which is amazing. Importantly I feel like I've got mg old self back, with the added bonus of being able to run now and meeting lots of amazing friends along the way. You can totally do this too
