I have realised I have been massively under estimating my portion sizes. This has made a difference.
I have seen lots of posts this morning relating to motivation (or lack of). The best advise I can give, which has really really worked for me. Find a buddy. Join a couch to 5k group. Runners are the best people for helping you. It doesn't matter how big or small your achievement they will support and praise you.
I have a whole new social life and circle of friends by doing the couch to 5k. I always have someone giving me words of encouragement. And it works.
Before I started the group I walked 5k. It took me 50 minutes 59 seconds. I am obese and hated exercise of any kind. I am asthmatic and so used that as an excuse not to do any exercise. I can assure you I was the couch in the couch to 5k.
I achieved a personal best on Sunday of 39 minutes. To others that sounds pathetic but to me (and all my new friends) that was amazing. And I could run the whole distance. To date, I have managed to lose 2.8kg. Slowly but slowly I am improving.
I urge you, if you are struggling to get started, find a new friend by giving it a go. Xx

Great to see you again, and I know you started in our Monday group weigh-in session on 14th March, and your post suggests you felt you were late for the Monday weigh-in, but the session went on all evening too, and here is the link if you'd like to add your results there:
I will be doing the weekly stats over the Easter weekend, so it's not too late to post your results in the session, and they can be counted. Congratulations on your 0.5kg loss this week, and to the overall loss of 2.8kg, that is fantastic!
What great advice you've given in terms of finding a running buddy - and Congratulations on achieving a personal best of 39 mins for your 5km, that is really good!
If you'd prefer me to copy and paste your results to the thread, let me know, but I thought you might want to put them there yourself. However, if you are weighing in here as your own separate thread, then that's fine too - I am only popping over to guide you to the thread, if you want to be there, and I know you joined us on 14th March, so hope you may still want to be with the group.
The latest link to the Monday group thread is always in the Events section (right-hand-side of the homepage) so it's easy to find us, for future reference.
Well done MW68 ! I am new to the weight loss forum and wanted to say hello! I am an overweight full time working mum of two. I am also doing the couch to 5k too!
Can I ask if you're still doing the couch to 5k? I'd be interested in joining you if it's okay with you please? I have rheumatoid arthritis and I've been getting over an Achilles reinjury. I'd be starting as a beginner, I've never run in my life. The last time I was in the gym (Oasis Wellness Centre - QA Hospital) was last Thursday when I did 20 minutes on the rower, 25 minutes on the cross trainer & about 3 minutes of weights before I ran out of time & had to return to work. I live in Denvilles, Havant. Mcrparader xxx
