Hi all, i have just joined this site, I have today decided to find willpower, so i checked my BMI, I was shocked to find i am quite severely OBESE. I need to lose over 7st 7lbs to be a normal BMI. So i shall look at losing 1/2 stone at a time, before thinking of the rest of the weight. However, with clinical depression, i find not comfort eating very hard, but i will try hard.

Hi all, just joined
Hello and welcome - hope you find this forum helpful.
Your approach to weight loss sounds very sensible - breaking it down into achievable goals. Good luck with the first 1/2 stone!
Hi Tabatha999,
Welcome to the forum and I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community. You are setting yourself a sensible goal to lose half a stone at a time, and I hope you'll find the support you're looking for here - it's a friendly and supportive place.

Hi Tabatha999, I just started today and was also shocked last night to discover the extent of my obesity. I think it's in part due to the calculations used to generate BMI, so I would take it with a grain of salt! I think your attitude and goal of looking at it half a stone at a time is good! So far I've only started today and I've found the forum to be very supportive and helpful. I've also suffered from depression in the past and I did sometimes find that taking a 10-minute walk instead of comfort eating helped me a lot. I hope we're both successful, let's take it slow and steady!
Hi and welcome Tabatha
Don't despair, when I joined, I needed to lose nearly 9 stone to get to healthy BMI and now, 6 months later, I've lost over 4 stone, so anything's possible
Stay active on the forum, because it's a very friendly and motivational place to be.
Wishing you all the best
Hello
Small targets work well for me too as the 'big picture' is just overwhelming 😕 5% was what was suggested, (over 3 months) the difference was noticeable so I then went on to 10% in 6 months etc Good luck 😊
Anna
Good luck with your first half stone and welcome to the forum 😀
I have just joined and my opinion is that we should all set small achievable target. Such as 1 pound a week. If we set our targets too high I find I get discouraged so slowly but surely is the best way. The very best of luck with your diet.
If I can do it, then so can you . I have 5st and 9.5ilbs to lose to be within my BMI . The support here is great. I am new too...only been here a week, so yes you are in a good place here. Nice to hear from you x
P.S. Comfort eating is what I have been doing for a long time now...gorge then feel horrid and round and round we go....that is until I found this site. Good to have other people who get it!!
