Need some motivation

Hi everyone :) has anybody got any tips to help motivate me to lose weight once and for all please? Anything would be gratefully appreciated. My first target is to lose 13lb, bringing me down from obese to overweight. Help!!! :D

Hi Muse79 - it hard for any of us here to say we've cracked it as we'll only truly know this when we have maintained a healthy weight for several years.

But to get you on the right track, I'd say look at it more of a lifestyle change than a diet. Make gradual manageable changes including reducing portion sizes, cutting down on snacking and getting more exercise. If you can make a long term lifestyle change you may just do it.

Try controlling your portions and tracking your food intake? Those were my nemesis! You'll be surprised how much a portion is. I have the Hairy Dieters Cookery book which is strict on portions. working for me so far. I track using My fitness Pal which is easy to use. Also I'm not hungry as I'm snacking too and I can see that I'm under my daily cals still because I'm eating appropriate portions. Also try changing your mind set; believe you're worth the effort and you may be surprised at how much you can achieve. Best of luck xxx

Yup! Me too I was having 4-6 times a portion per meal I reckon =/

You could join the Monday weigh in thread with Lowcal, the around the world km challenge with FizzyLiz and Suepers Easter challenge.

Small changes to your lifestyle make weight loss sustainable, have a look at the NHS 12 week plan. Good luck.

To be honest motivation need to come from yourself. You have to want to make these changes in your life for you. We however can guide and support you though, but you need to want to do this for yourself or it wont stick!

Keep going! you may slip and fall off the wagon but jump back on I will save you a space, I am over 2 years at maintenance here but I weigh in every Monday keeps me in check
