I am trying to loose weight I am overweight for my age, but I need something that can stop me from wanting to eat junk and fatty foods it's horrible all I want is junk food.

What can help me not think about junk?

I don't know if it will help but try to stay away from anywhere for a week that makes getting junk/fatty food too easy to get. Give yourself tasks to do for the week and l your body will start to get used to not having junk food. When you feel the urge have a long drink of water and call a friend. Mostly don't be too hard on yourself - take it a day at a time :) Bethkyr

Oh me too, I am way over my extras allowance this week. Might undo the lb I lost last week. Find out tomorrow. For me it's a combination of 4 things. 1. The cold weather always makes me feel hungry. 2. Same with the dark nights. 3. I am still finishing the extras hanging about the fridge etc after Christmas. 4. Want to reward myself because it's January! What has helped. I've planned 3 go to meals to have quickly when I'm tempted. The fact that they are mostly breakfasts, doesn't matter as I can eat them any time of the day. I have also increased the size of my portions of veg, fruit and lean protein. So the junk isn't calling so loudly because I am full with the right things. So maybe add 2 fruit to every sweet dish and at least one extra veg to every savoury plate. Make lots of veg soup to make meals bigger and fruity desserts perhaps including sugarfree jelly. A 3 course dinner makes it harder to keep on snacking. If all else fails go and have a luxurious bath and an early night. Keeps you out of the kitchen! We can do this. But we may not succeed till next week rather than this. Hey ho!

I know this feeling! One way that helps me sometimes is to make something healthy that's really nice. You can make up for the sugar, fat and salt of a fast food meal with the right mix of protein (meat, eggs, cheese etc) and herbs or spices. You can give anything a nice flavour that way, and that's all the fat and flavourings of the junk food were trying to make up for. And while it takes a bit more effort to cook it's usually so satisfying I don't mind doing it again and look forward to it.
