The workout...
Good for you Thule,
I haven't got to jogging and doubt I ever will, but I can relate to the pain and obvious signs of torture
After 8 weeks, my fitness levels are improving, I don't sound quite as much like a steam train as I did and the same will be true for you.
Why don't you join the Kicking the Kilometers to dust thread, posted by Lizzie every Monday, it's a great incentive to get out there and just do it
U know joggings an overstatement lol, i sound like a steam train hahaaa...my friend even said dont faint!dont faint!...okay will look out for the thread on monday...
Ha ha, the first time I went out with my OH, he kept checking his phone for reception in case he had to call an ambulance!
I'll look out for you on Monday. Count up the kms you do, so you can log them
Omg how do I count km?thats hectic?any app I can use on my side of the world?
Oh crumbs, you're talking to a dinosaur here, I have to count steps and convert, but there are apps that will do the same. Give me a few minutes to have a scout about and see if I can come up with the answer for you.
What side of the world are we talking about here?
South Africa looolsss...will check also on my android...
I had a look at the myfitnesspal site, but don't know if it only counts calories. I'm sure some people use their phones as pedometers. I bought a pedometer, but couldn't get it to work, although I know others have more success.
Sorry I haven't been more use to you.
South Africa, no wonder you were suffering. I'm rubbish in the heat
Hi Thule, you could try mapmywalk on android - a great little app. You can set it to km or miles. If you input your weight it will work out your cals too.
I have a Garmin GPS watch which is fab - I have found the gadgets have really kept me focussed. I aim for 10 miles of recorded walking a week - this means I go out for a walk, I don't count the general schlepping about which is usually limited to walking to a from the car.
Good luck with your walking/jogging
Thanks Sueper...m checking on it as i respond...a watch is actually more convienient..
Hi Thule1986,
Brilliant that you're enjoying those walks and jogging too - 30 minute in one go is really impressive.
I have an app on my phone called S Health but it was provided when I got the phone. I imagine having a fitbit or similar pedometer might be good - I usually have to put my phone into a bag on my back so it comes with me to help me count my steps. I think there are more handy things.
Lizzy told me that 10,000 steps equals 7.5 km - and I know Moreless has a good formula for converting, but my Maths head made me freeze with fright at trying to work it out...!
Anyway, hope you're enjoying your week.
Lowcal
Hey guys...I got an app called fitApp on android it counts km/s for walks running cycling etc, will tell you tomorrow if it works..thank you s much Moreless and LowCal...I guess I need a bag myself because my phone is a bit biggish..5 inch screen...now I have another problem if anyone has a solution please share, I am asthmatic and after my run I have been wheezing the whole day does anyone have a suggestion?is there a special pump for running
Hi Thule,
Glad you sorted out your app, hope you have more success with it than I did with the pedometer
I'm sorry, I can't help you at all with the asthma query.
Thanks for the heads up on app fit...will check it out.
I know I will never do exercise outside of the gym. I did 35 mins cross train and 15 mins walk. I just hope this wobbles some fat off. 😄
I dont have the gym option aqua....rural areas....luckily theres a road....I m like a steam train on the road
